-two available static pressure configurations, that allow the choice among a total of 24 standard versions.
WORKING PRINCIPLES C APACITY R ANGE The working principle of the PK-N Heater is very simple.
CAPACITY
The ambient air (7) to be heated is sucked by the centrifugal fan (5) through the aspiration grille (1), and it is heated (8) passing on the combustion chamber (3) and on the heat exchanger (4). The hot air (9) is then thrown in the ambient, directly by an outlet plenum, or through a duct system. The heater has the following safety devices(10): fan thermostat and safety thermostat. All main electrical components are fitted in the electrical board (6) .
MODELS
Upon request, the heater can be supplied with burner (2). To choose the right model, the following items must be considered: • the use (heating, process plants or other), • the kind of operation (seasonal or continuous), • the kind of coupled burner (on/off, two stages or modulating)
AVAILABLE STATIC PRESSURES
WORKING FIELD
The standard available static pressures are: -version 00A (only for PKA-N), installation with plenum, where there is no need of high air pressure. This allows the use of motor with lower speed, consequently assuring lower running costs, thanks to a saving in the consumption, and higher comfort thanks to the low level noise; -version 10A, with medium available static pressure values, for installation with duct systems when no particular pressure is needed; -version 20A, with high available static pressure, for installations with articulated duct systems or with high air speed.
Each heater has a wide working field, that goes from the minimum power, with a maximum certified efficiency from 93.1% to 94.6%, to the maximum power with a minimum efficiency from 87.5% to 90.8%. The use of an oversized heater with regard to the ambient heat request, allows a higher plant efficiency. As you can see from the following diagram, should the ambient heat request be of 190 kW, using a PKA190N heater, the efficiency is of 90.5%; whereas using a PKA 250N, the efficiency goes up to 92.5%.

CERTIFIED QUALITY The PK-N heaters are built in conformity with the European Norms PR EN 1020. They are approved by GASTEC with CE mark n. 0063AQ0300 according to the Gas Directive 90/ 396/CEE.
A VAILABLE S TATIC P RESSURE
They comply with Machines Directive 89/392/EEC, Low Voltage Directive 72/23/EEC, Electro Magnetic Compliance EMC 89/336/CEE. Each heater has been approved to operate with a working field between a minimum and maximum value.
PK-N: INSTALLATION Thanks to its flexibility, suitableness and possibility of customized installations, the PK-N heater can meet any heating requirement. The following illustrations show the different heater installations.

ACCESSORIES On request, the PK-N heaters can be supplied with plenum for the air distribution and air filter for the ambient purification. Distribution plenum The plenum is supplied with bifilar louvers suitable for the use in industrial and commercial environments. The accurate design and manufacturing allow to obtain a plenum with louvers assuring high air delivery with strong air throw and reduced pressure losses. The standard plenum is manufactured with the air throw in three directions: two short sides and one long side.
INSTALLATION OF PKA-N HEATER IN AMBIENT WITH PLENUM AND FILTER 1 2
Air inlet filter Air outlet plenum
On specific request, it can be supplied with the air throw on two long sides and one short side.
In case of particular needs, Apen Group can design and manufacture plenum custom-made.
SAVING The PK-N heaters guarantee a real saving according to: • installation: if positioned directly in the ambient to be heated with air distribution through plenum, the plant costs are very low; • operation: high efficiency and heating of the ambient in short time guarantee efficiency and energy saving; • service: the maintenance operations are easy and fast.
Air filter The air filter has been designed and manufactured in modacrilic fibre, fire-proof class 1, can be used in continuous service up to a maximum temperature of 80°C and has an average efficiency equal to 85% (according to the EN 779 Norm) corresponding to class G3. The air filters, in the standard versions, have been dimensioned to make the aspiration only from one side. In case of particular requirements, for example horizontal or downflow installations, contact Apen Group to obtain the right sizing.
MAINTENANCE All the maintenance operations are particularly simple and fast and guarantee the heater's efficiency. To reach the heat exchanger, it is sufficient to take off the front inspection panel. The fan cleaning can be made with a compressor and with a vacuum cleaner. The filters can be regenerated through the cleaning with compressed air. It should be noted that in the installations with duct systems, the filter positioned inside can be removed for servicing and maintenance without any need to disconnect the ducts.
Discharge The heater is a B23 type, that is an appliance without draught switch and with burner fan before the heat exchanger. The heater can be connected both to flue ducts and chimneys.
BURNER -HEATER COUPLING The PK-N heaters work with gas or gas-oil blown air burners . Apen Group can supply a wide range of burners with the heater. All the PK-N heaters have been designed, manufactured and tested to be coupled with the burner manufactured by the main Companies on the market.
