EDITOR'S NOTE What's Poppin' key-uties? Last newsletter of this school year, and here for it! This newsletter is very near and dear to my heart because when I ran for Bulletin Editor earlier this year, I had the same space theme on my powerpoint candidate slide. I hope you guys enjoy the theme of this months newsletter as much as I do. To all of you seniors graduating - I'm so happy to have met all of you, and I thank you for the friendship and guidance you've given me over the past years. Can't wait to see all of you this weekend. I'm definitely going to cry. Please visit us when you have the chance. As always, I hope you guys enjoy this month's newsletter! If you have any questions/comments/concerns, please feel free to contact me at any time (see contact page).

In love and service,

Jhacinda Caoagdan ‘18-’20 Kentwood Key Club Editor

PRESIDENT'S LETTER Hey Kentwood! As we come to the end of the school year, I am saddened that we have to say goodbye but I am excited to see where next year will lead us! Still have yet to process that I will be a senior but that’s okay, I have till next year. A couple friendly reminders and updates: Our last meeting of the year will be June 10th! There will be no morning meeting. Come and receive your certificate of membership and join us for ice cream and pieing of the officers! Remember to continue to serve during the summer as those hours will be useful for next year! I hope you all have a fantastic summer and continue to serve your communities until we meet again. I can’t wait for you to see all we have instore for the upcoming school year!

In love and service,

Julie Ngo

‘19-’20 Kentwood Key Club President

MEET YOUR SECRETARY: I’m Amanda, your 2019-2020 KWKC secretary! I’m super excited to work and get to know all of you throughout this term. I’m currently a junior enrolled in the running start program at Green River and I love strawberry flavored things. Some of my goals for this term is to have hours easily accessible for the members, update members on their hour progress throughout the year, find many fun service events for the club, and create strong bonds with you all, the members!

HEY GUYS~

You all are what makes Key Club what it is today. I’ve been in this club ever since freshman year, and I’ve learned so much since then. I hope you all can take away useful skills and wonderful memories from this club, and if you ever have any questions about hours, the club, or just wanna talk, don’t be afraid to contact me!

In Love & Service,

Amanda Aguzar '19-'20 Kentwood Key Club Secretary

AMANDA AGUZAR! 3 FUN FACTS 1. I’m a picky eater 2. I really want to get back into bullet journaling (I was really into it freshman year but got lazy and stopped) 3. Wintermelon with fresh milk is my current go-to drink at sharetea!

RELAY FOR LIFE

Every year, Kentwood Key Club and Kentwood National Honors Society come together for the fight against cancer. Relay For Life is a community-based fundraising event for the American Cancer Society. Each year, more than 5,000 Relay For Life events take place in over twenty countries. We walked laps around the track all night to signify the fight for cancer never sleeps.

This year, Key Club IP Vice President and NHS Officer, Maya Hirota raised $1,005 in memory of her uncle who passed away recently. "He was battling kidney cancer. He was a couple months away from his first wedding anniversary. He was such a playful, loving guy who would always be there to make me smile at family gatherings, and he will be missed greatly. Raising money has been my way to combat cancer for my uncle, so thank you to all og those who have supported me through fundraising for Relay for Life this year... I'm so so grateful to everyone who helped me contribute to the fight against cancer."

#WHYIRELAY THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO CAME AND DONATED!
