EDITOR'S NOTE PRESIDENT'S LETTER IN CASE YOU MISSED IT UPDATES/DCON/FUNDRAISERS GOODBYE SENIORS CONTACT US USEFUL RESOUCES
EDITOR'S NOTE HELLO KEY-UTIES! My very last newsletter! Ahhh! The nostalgia is definitely hitting. We decided to theme the last newsletter as Netflix themed. The title of every page is one of the officers' favorite show! As you can see, I am a fan of Black Mirror! I recommend it for those who enjoy watching sci-fi, twilight zoneesque shows or movies. It's definitely not for the faint of heart. That being said, the past two years as your editor has truly been an experience! I've learned a lot and have a newfound love for digital editing, and I hope you guys enjoyed reading the newsletters as much as I liked making them. As always, if you would like to give me any feedback or have any questions, don't be afraid to contact me at jhacindaa@gmail.com! Happy reading :)

PRESIDENT'S LETTER HEY KENTWOOD KEY CLUB! Wow! I can’t believe it’s already the beginning of March. Leaving one month of the Key Club year left which completely aches my heart. ): Despite having to part ways with something I’ve invested the last four years in, I’m excited for new beginnings and for the future of this club and I hope you guys are too. As many of you know, the board and some members are getting ready to leave for DCON, which is our annual convention that allows members to build connections and a variety of skills to bring back to their club. We’re ecstatic for the trip and we can’t wait to tell you all about it so hopefully you’d be interested in attending next year! A couple updates/reminders for the month of March: With spring sports coming up, I understand that a majority of our club has practice in the afternoon, making it difficult to make afternoon meetings. This is a reminder that we do have morning meetings that start at 7:20, which you could make even if you take the bus! Sports practices will not be excused! Kent Kids’ Art Day still needs volunteers! Please check out our powerpoint to sign up! Please start fundraising for our biggest event of the year, Relay for Life! Contact Julie (ngotuyetjulie@gmail.com) to see how to get started! Let’s have a great last month together <3

SAYING GOODBYE - REBECCA It is with great sadness that my term as fundraising head is over. Many memories were made and shared over these several months. My position as fundraising head has evolved during my time, I hope the future of fundraising continues to improve and develop. There will always be room for improvement, but at some point that room will be so little and minute. I excitedly welcome the new fundraising head to the Kentwood Key Club family.
This event was a celebration of service event at Kentridge Key Club. In I believe he will leave a lasting imprint addition it was an end-of-term on the future of Kentwood Key Club. celebration welcoming the new board members and saying farewell to the Thank you club members for your support in my fundraisers, it is you all old board members. Go chargers! who made me motivated to continue doing what I do. It is you all who certainly made my job enjoyable. Farewell, and may you all remember me as that weirdo with the unicorn mask.
SINCERELY,
Rebecca Chhoy '19-’20 KENTWOOD KEY CLUB FUNDRAISING COMMITTEE HEAD
SAYING GOODBYE - JHACINDA HEY KEY CLUBBERS, HOW DO YOU FEEL? I feel kinda sad! Saying goodbye is always hard. As a high schooler, its so easy to just take everyday like its not important and feel like you're stuck in this never ending cycle of school and work. However, as I'm writing this, I've had the time to reminisce about the lessons I've learned and who I am now compared to who I was 4 years ago. The last 4 years in Key Club has truly been the best. I've learned a lot, cried a bit, and have made new friends.
FAVORITE MEMORY: FIESTA 5K!
A lot of people, maybe even you, thinks Key Club will always be just a club. I went into Key Club thinking that it'll look great on college apps and busy work. However, I've came to realize that Key Club has been and will always be a part of my life, and I'll never forget the memories I've made with the people in it. Thank you everyone!
STAY TOASTY,
Jhacinda Caoagdan '18-’20 KENTWOOD KEY CLUB EDITOR
SAYING GOODBYE - SARAH HEY EVERYONE! It's a little bittersweet to write this as it will be our last goodbye as an officer but I’m sure our innies will take over nicely. I had a lot of fun this year running and planning loads of fundraisers and thank you to everyone who supported them! There were a lot of things that I wish I could have accomplished in my term but I think I did pretty good in what I have done! Anyway, everyone has a lot to look forward to as Kentwood Key Club hopes to continuously move forward and become a safe place for everyone to do community service and have fun.
LAST YEAR’S DCON IN SEATTLE WHERE I HAD AN ABSOLUTE BLAST!
Thank you all for paying dues and please pay dues on time next year as well if you are not a graduating senior. To my graduating seniors, we really did it! Graduation is only a bit away, we can survive these last few months! I hope that everyone has had a wonderful experience with our club this year as the officers really worked hard to make this year as great as possible..
IN LOVE AND SERVICE,
Sarah Phung

SAYING GOODBYE - AMANDA Entering high school I was scared I wouldn’t find a place where I could “fit in”, but once finding Key Club, I knew I found a place where I belonged. When I first walked into Mr. White’s room freshman year I really didn’t know what I was expecting and was just excited to grab some free ice cream. Fast forward to senior year, Key Club has been a huge part of my high school journey and I couldn’t imagine these past 4 years without it. From the energetic spirit battles at DCON to the smiles on people’s faces after helping them out during volunteering,
MY ROOMMATE ALVINA & I BEFORE CLOSING SESSION DURING DCON MY FRESHMAN YEAR
Key Club has shaped me into a better person. I’ve made new friends, learned ways to help my community, and even found a passion for something. I’ve been through ups and downs while being apart of this club, but in the end this club will always be apart of my heart. The lessons I’ve learned, the fun, and the family I’ve gained from Key Club will always be something I’m grateful for. Even though we don’t make keys in Key Club, it sure does open doors.
IN LOVE AND SERVICE,
Amanda Aguzar

SAYING GOODBYE - SERENITY Kentwood Key Club, I would like to give my thanks to the club for allowing me to become the person I am today. As I walk out of this organization, I leave with the skills and values to serve that will surely last a lifetime. This year, being Vice President truly was the best conclusion in this Key Club journey. Being able to work alongside those who I work best with and learning to call them my second family will be a memory I will never forget. To the members of this club, I truly hope this year wraps up well and you walk out with a stronger passion in continuing to serve your home, school, and community.
WE GOT SPIRIT, YES WE DO! WE GOT SPIRIT, HOW 'BOUT YOU?
Regardless of where each of you end up next year, whether it’s at Kentwood or not, I hope the values of Key Club will remain with you at your core. With that, I would like to give my final gratitude to everyone who gave me the honor of saying these lines throughout my past terms and to wrap it up... I will say it one last time:
IN LOVE AND SERVICE,
Serenity Lee
'19-’20 KENTWOOD KEY CLUB VICE PRESIDENT
SAYING GOODBYE -JULIE Wow, it’s really time for me to say goodbye. Much of what I want to say will be said in person, in front of the club, while having a very personal and reflecting conversation. But I will still take this opportunity to thank Kentwood Key Club for all its done for me. I’ve spent the last four years actively participating in an organization that aspires to change the lives of others every single day and I couldn’t be more honored to be part of something that’s bigger than myself. I’ve gotten the chance to see the club grow and prosper throughout these last four years and I’m so proud of everything the board and the club has accomplished.
GETTING THE CHANCE TO HOST MY FIRST KEY CLUB EVENT OF MY TERM AND GETTING TO BOND WITH MY SISTER SCHOOL AND HELP EACH OTHER SUCCEED!
From being an inactive freshman member to the president, senior year is something that I would have never imagined. That being said, thank you for giving me the opportunity to serve as a leader and for believing that I could push our club forward. I’ve loved every success, every hardship, every heartache, every member and I can’t wait to continue serving the world for the rest of my life.
UNTIL NEXT TIME,
Julie Ngo
