What is KY?
For the years to come, Aalto University Business Students, or KY, will be the home and community to you and your fellow mursus. Founded in 1911, KY has ever since provided its members services and benefits, student advocacy and memorable experiences, as well as friendships that last a lifetime. KY exists solely for – and because of – its members. Many students choose to volunteer their time and know-how to help run, for example, KY’s associations, committees and project teams. Every degree student at Aalto University School of Business may join KY and the membership is free of charge. KY Foundation, for its part, was founded to support the students at Aalto University School of Business. The foundation distributes grants and subsidies, for example, to KY’s associations and individual projects. More about KY Foundation on page 86. The following pages will introduce you to the different parts of KY - familiarize yourself with the organization to be able to make the most out of your time here. Mursu, welcome to KY!

Register as a KY member at ky.fi/join. When filling out the signup form, tick the box “I want to order Monday Mail.” Monday Mail is KY’s weekly newsletter sent straight to your e-mail. There you’ll find the upcoming events, greetings from our partners and other important information.

As a KY member, you will be a part of a 108-yearold student community, with long traditions and rich culture. You will have the right to attend events meant exclusively for KY members and to join e.g. KY’s committees as well as other extra-curricular activities, and make friends for life in the meanwhile.
Access tailor-made benefits for mem- bers only
In addition to regular student discounts, flashing your shiny KY Sticker gives you access to discounts from various shops, services and restaurants. Once you have received your student card, pick up the sticker at KY Office to be able to prove your membership. Before receiving the actual card, you can already get the benefits by having a KY stamp on the receipt of the paid AYY membership fee. See the benefits on page 92.

Discover career-related opportunities
KY works closely with Aalto University School of Business to ensure that students’ rights are upheld and that we get the most out of our studies. KY also provides career-related information in the form of, for example, alumni networks and various events introducing you to the business world. KY offers you a chance to develop professionally and start forming the network for your future career. More info about career from page 68 onwards.
