KY Board

KY Board consists of eight of your fellow students dedicated to make your studies better and your student life as good as it can be. The members of the board are selected once a year by the representative council.

KY Board wields the highest executive power at KY. They are the face and voice of the members, steering the day-to-day activities according to our strategy, while upholding our culture and traditions. Being on the board is a full-time job, so the members do not have a lot of time for studies in the meantime. On the other hand, the members of the board get to be a part of decision-making at the highest level and take part in an unforgettable year in general. The duties of KY Board include running the ongoing operations at KY and dealing with matters related to studies, career and free time of KY members. The board represents KY at various events, groups and meetings, and makes sure that the voice of the students is heard at both university and national level. Helping to achieve all this, the board is supported by KY’s employees as well as several committees, project teams and other volunteers. Each board member has specific duties depending on their role and portfolio of responsibilities. Our Chairman Heikki Helaniemi divides his time between general leadership, management tasks and representing KY. Our Vice Chairman Rasmus Ylinen oversees the new Student Center project and is in charge of finance, as well as supporting the work of the chairman and the board. Even though the board has great responsibilities and works full-time, the members are also your fellow Aalto BIZ students – and they’re here for you!
