WE WILL LOOK BACK ON THESE DAYS
Welcome to the Aalto University School of Business and, above all, welcome to KY!
I’m certain that your next few years will be unforgettable in many ways. Our task at KY is to create the best possible conditions for unique student life, and you as a new member of our community play a major role in making that possible.

Our office, Espilä, works as the base of KY and is located just next to the new main building of Aalto School of Business. The office functions as the core of our activities, with volunteers and employees arranging a variety of activities to all of our members. And bear in mind: our office serves free coffee!
As the Executive Director, my main responsibility is to make sure that everything runs smoothly at KY and the KY office. I’m just one of the employees – at Espilä, we have around 10 employees plus the whole KY board. Should you need to get a reservation to our premises, buy some KY Products or just help in general, we are here for you. I’m quite certain that most of the faces will become familiar to you in the near future.
Community and the feeling of belonging are a couple of the biggest benefits that KY has to offer. That is why I encourage you to try different activities and concepts that
KY’s different committees, subcommittees and clubs have to offer. Participating increases the feeling of belonging, which is a very important value these days. Participating with your own terms also teaches a lot of lessons that you may not learn just by reading a book.
Participating may be attending III-kierros event, becoming a club board member, dancing on the stage of KY-Speksi or working at the KY Office, in addition to hundreds of other ways to do it, you name it. We will introduce those to you in the following weeks. To ensure you acknowledge and take care of your own and other people’s terms and limits, I advise you to go read KY’s Code of Conduct from our website. It is important that all KY members feel at home in a supportive and safe environment. For your first autumn here, I will let you in on a little secret: everyone else is just as excited and nervous! Dare to be yourself and respect others.
KY exists only for and because of our members, so you are the reason why we exist. Come say hi to the office and enjoy the following years. I sincerely hope that we can help you to find your place in our community.
