Why should you be interested in this course? • The OSHA standard requires that each employer provide their employees with a safe place of employment which is free from recognized hazards that can cause or are likely to cause serious physical harm, permanent injury or death. • It is believed that every employee is present in an area every day where they are exposed to a hazardous chemical. • Hazardous chemicals use and education has been the number one most cited standard in OSHA for more than 10 years. • The average OSHA recordable injury due to exposure to hazardous chemicals is $3500 each. • This class could be very useful for the company to prepare to apply or continue being eligible for the VPP (OSHA Inspection Exemption) Program.

William Pfister President, Safety Training and Consulting, Inc. Pfister was employed with the Indiana Department of Labor for eighteen years, serving five years as an Indiana OSHA inspector and as a safety training consultant for the Bureau of Safety Education and Training (BUSET) for thirteen years. During his tenure with IDOL, he trained over 40,000 people, including training seminars for six universities. Pfister has conducted training seminars in 13 states and has performed more than 1,200 consultations and inspections for private industry. He is a federally authorized instructor with respect to general industry and construction standards. Pfister is a member of the American Society of Safety Engineers. Currently he is the president of Safety Training and Consulting, Inc. which provides occupational safety and health training services throughout the United States.
