Thomas D. Clark Center for Kentucky History 100 West Broadway | Frankfort, Ky | 40601 502-564-1792 | www.history.ky.gov The Thomas D. Clark Center for Kentucky History, a 167,000 squarefoot building in downtown Frankfort, opened in 1999. Headquarters of the Kentucky Historical Society (KHS), the Center is the state’s home for history and one of three buildings on the KHS history campus. The Center for Kentucky History is a perfect venue for meetings, luncheons, dinners and special events. As a gesture of goodwill, KHS extends a 20 percent discount off normal rental prices and free equipment rental to all non-profit and state agency renters. This discount does not apply to damage deposits. RENTAL The Center is available for rental Monday through Saturday. Different rental fees are charged based upon the room, date and time selected. The Center is closed for business and rental on state government holidays and Sundays. All rentals require a four hour minimum; with the rental time beginning when the first person to set up for the event arrives and ending when the last person departs. Rental of our facilities includes access to our fully equipped warming kitchen and use of tables and chairs. Rates are included in this packet.

Hilary J. Boone Commonwealth Hall Upon entering the Center, visitors will see the central atrium with formal staircase, reminiscent of the staircase in the Old State Capitol. A green terrazzo stone map of Kentucky, with each county outlined in brass, dominates the floor of the atrium, lending significance to the name Commonwealth Hall. Adjacent to Commonwealth Hall is the Hall of Governors, a gallery of more than 50 portraits that pay tribute to Kentucky’s former chief executives. Measuring 3,666 square feet, Commonwealth Hall is an ideal setting for memorable after-hours events. Only the first floor of this area is available for use during events.
