Spotlight on Johns Creek
The city of Johns Creek is 83 square miles nestled into the northernmost section of Fulton County about 30 miles from Downtown Atlanta. This city is filled with people dreaming of their future, people reminiscing about their past, people beginning their careers, people taking their first steps, people retiring, people enjoying the family and friends around them. It is these people that make the city of Johns Creek unique and special.
Since the inception of Johns Creek in 2006, the people of this fast-growing community have taken on the responsibility of turning this North Atlanta suburb into one of the most desirable communities in the county to Live, Work and Play.
Filled with beautiful sculpted properties, many subdivisions within Johns Creek (listed on pages 37-40) offer easy access to elite golf courses and tennis courts, and also are home for some of Atlanta’s most recognizable celebrities.
The City features a thriving business population, a state-of-the-art healthcare system, beautiful landscapes, exclusive golf courses, and highquality education. Despite its relative youth and thanks to a continually growing population of approximately 85,000 residents, Johns Creek is among Georgia’s largest cities.
Not only is Johns Creek one of the largest cities in the state, it has also been recognized as one of the safest cities in Georgia 2018- 2023.
Parks
Parks bring people together. They provide spaces to run, play, visit, relax, socialize, and engage. The City of Johns Creek has long proclaimed the importance of recreation and parks, purchasing and planning new parks has been a priority over the last 10 years.
The city is home to nine public parks in addition to five Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area units. The city’s newest park, Cauley Creek Park, opened in June 2023. The new 203-acre park features a unique 5K rubberized trail, lighted sports courts, lighted grass and synthetic turf playing fields, pedestrian bridge, and Chattahoochee River overlooks. Johns Creek area has a quality of outdoor activities that rivals any in Georgia. The city of Johns Creek will continue to look for additional opportunities that will allow it to transform greenspace into usable areas to benefit the community in the future.
Income and Housing
Johns Creek is an extremely prestigious and affluent community, statistically one of the wealthiest cities in Georgia. The median household income is approximately $125,862 with more than 29,000 housing units. Johns Creek has been ranked year over year as one of the best places to live and raise a family in Georgia. Most recently, in 2023 the City was recognized as one of the Safest Cities in Georgia, by Safewise.com and one of the #1 Best Places to Raise a Family in Georgia by Niche.com.
Primary Education
The City of Johns Creek is serviced by the Fulton County public school system, including 19 public elementary, middle, and high schools, and boasts some of the best educational opportunities in Georgia and the entire nation. Centennial, Chattahoochee, Northview, and Johns Creek High Schools are listed among U.S. News and World Report, “Top High Schools in the Country.” Additionally, high schools within Johns Creek produce some of the highest SAT and ACT scores in metro Atlanta and the state of Georgia. Of course, the various scholastic accomplishments achieved in the high schools would not be possible without an excellent foundation. As expected, the middle and elementary schools within Johns Creek are academically distinguished as well, collectively winning numerous National Blue Ribbon Academic Awards.
