History is embedded in everything around us. Here is a couple of suggestions, if you’re looking for historic locations, where you can explore the past. Find them and read more online.
Stagsevold The remnants of a medieval castle, which according to local folklore, were used as a robber’s fortress.
The bear grotto at Rathlousdal A well-preserved grotto which housed Russian bears, in what was once a private zoo for the local noblemen. King Erik Menved's Castle Find the ruins of the 14th century castle in the beautiful Bygholm Park right in the center of Horsens.
Denmark’s first water park In Tinnet Krat, near the source of the river Gudenå, you can find the remnants of Denmark’s first public water park.
The lost anchor of the Frigate Jylland In the early 20th century the wooden frigate Jylland lost two of its massive anchors near Juelsminde. One was never found, the other is displayed in the marina.
