THE PHILIPPINE TRADE TRAINING CENTER FOOD CONNECT is a learning program designed by the Philippine Trade Training Center (PTTC) to assist MSMEs in the food processing industry in the preparation of mandatory documentary requirements for obtaining local certification from the Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) such as License to Operate (LTO) and Certificate of Product Registration (CPR), and certification requirements of exporting countries in preparation for international certification. The program encourages MSMEs to level up and meet the market standards by acquiring the appropriate certification that will prepare them for the expansion of their business in both domestic and international markets.


WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT • We provide Capability Building Activities A series of capability building activities will be conducted by the PTTC such as formal/on-site training, write-shop, awareness/briefing sessions and updating on the mandatory regulatory and market requirements; and firm-level guidance on the preparation of documentary requirements.

• We have a Food Connect Hub

It is a venue for the learning community activities located at the PTTC, equipped with the tools intended specifically for undertakings related to assessing food product quality.

• We Connect to the Regions

PTTC expands its reach by bringing the Food Connect Program to the regions. Contact your nearest Negosyo Center or DTI Regional Office for the schedule of regional program.

• We Provide Assistance In Other Areas Of Concerns

a. Marketing capabilities (e-commerce development, evaluation and selection of prospective export channels) b. Marketing transactions (sales and negotiations, costing and pricing, trade fair participation) c. Management capabilities (fund sourcing for innovation projects)

FOOD LAB

A half-day, non-course, informal gathering with experts discussing the latest trends, market updates, and new developments in the food industry, creating an alternative environment for experiential learning for food manufacturers. Regular training and mentoring are organized and conducted by key industry practitioners and business mentors from Mondays to Fridays, 8am to 5pm.

Rooms are available as working space for mentoring, small group gathering, networking and negotiations, equipped with basic amenities including internet connection of up tp 5 mbps, and accessible from Mondays to Fridays, 8am to 5pm. The Food Lab is a venue for food testing such as Water Activity, Water Content, pH, and Metal Detector for initial assessment of food properties for third party laboratory testing.

MSMEs assisted by the Innovation Centers of DOST’s Food Innovation Center (FIC), universities and other hubs ready with product R&D

MSMEs with “No LTO” but with existing food processing facility, and are committed to undergo training and mentoring to comply with the mandatory documentary regulatory requirements
