2Meet us

We would love to welcome you to one of our on campus events. Open Days (see pages 6-7) are your opportunity to explore our campus facilities and find out more about your chosen course. We’re here to answer any questions and an Open Day is the perfect place to ask. Our 2022 Open Day dates are:

3Apply through UCAS

Applications for 2023 entry open in September 2022. You can apply through the UCAS website using our UCAS code Y75. You can choose up to 5 options and have until Wednesday 25 January 2023 to do this.

4Make your decision

If we make you an offer, we’ll invite you to a Decision Day in the spring. Our Decision Days are designed for you to get to know your course, as well as our campus and community, better.

5Apply for your loan

Most students use government loans to cover the cost of their university tuition and accommodation. You won’t have to start paying your student loan back until you’re earning over £27,295 a year. If you decide to fund your studies through a loan, you’ll need to apply for funding through your student finance provider before May 2023.

6Find your new home

If you’re moving away from home to study with us, then choosing where to live is an important decision. We guarantee all of our first year students a place in University accommodation, providing our deadlines are met. You’ll be able to submit your preferences from February 2023 to July 2023. You can choose 3 options and we will try our best to meet your preferences. You can find out more about how rooms are allocated on our website.

7Get your results

August 2023 is when all of your hard work pays off. Celebrate your achievements, confirm your place with us and look forward to university life. If you didn’t get what you hoped for, we may still be able to find you a place through Clearing.

8Join the York St John University family

September 2023 is the start of your university experience and there is a lot to do in your first week. The Students’ Union organise a Welcome Week full of activities to help you settle into university life.
