I took this photo in Korea back in 2015. It was taken out of a window of our moving car. I wasn’t even expecting to take a nice photo, I was just testing the settings on my camera. When I saw this bright blue car drive into the middle of the frame I instinctively pressed down on the shutter. This remains one of my favorite pictures to date and is this moment is one of the first times I knew that photography would be a lifelong passion. - Chris Lee

growing up living in a countr y i am not from it’s hard to find home could it be the people or the place where i was born is it where i learned how to ride a bike and trust my instincts in the stick y thai heat or maybe it’s along the coast with sand under my toes and seagulls’ songs that wake me up in the brisk dawn i want to remember feeling home because i dont know when i’ll feel it again - Samantha Thomas

I grew up in a predominantly Muslim communit y in Indonesia and ever y Eid celebration always means family coming over, giving and sharing what they have with each other. Even when my relationship with the communit y has changed over the years and I’ve moved to other countries, the warm feeling of Eid never really change no matter where I am. Strangers I sit next to af ter the prayer becomes family, as they give best wishes on the year ahead and children run around with balloons excitedly, marking the end of our 30-days fasting month. It wasn’t long af ter I moved to the US when the Muslim ban was applied to the immigration law and I heard fellow Muslim sisters and brothers receiving racist remarks all over the countr y. Even until now, more than a year af ter the ban was put in place, barely any thing has changed. I just wish that with this piece I can share the warm feeling that I get when I’m surrounded by fellow Muslims during Eid, and begin to see each other as humans. - Riani Singgih

At this point of my life I have taken hundreds of photos in Big Sur and along Highway 1’s famous coast. However, those majestic cliffs and scenic beaches never seem to get old or repetitive. I shot this photo on digital, but black and white definitely brought out the intensit y of this stretch of the Big Sur Coast. - Miles Lewis

This photo was taken on Mt. Tamalpais in Marin Count y, California. Marin Count y has always been my home and I loved growing up in such a beautiful natural area. My home has definitely really influenced my ar t. When I was really missing my home this year at school I collaged this photo I took while I was still at home. - Sarah de Sur ville
