MIGUEL ÁNGEL PARTICIPANTE / BENEFICIARY EL MALABAR - CULTURA VIVA Tengo 11 años así que aprovecho mi tiempo libre después de la escuela para hacer teatro y break dance. No solo tengo mejor ritmo sino que también ya puedo pararme frente al público sin los temores de antes. Mi barrio tiene bastantes problemas pero encontré este espacio donde me alejo de ellos y puedo pasar bastante tiempo divirtiéndome en grande.
I'm 11 years old so in my spare time after school, I do theatre and break dance. I not only have better rhythm but I can also stand up in front of an audience without the fears that I used to have. My neighborhood is quite problematic however I found this space where I can stay away from trouble and have a great time.

ARTISTA Y PROFESOR EN LA ESCUELA SOCIAL DE CIRCO EL MALABAR ARTIST AND TEACHER IN THE SOCIAL SCHOOL OF CIRCUS EL MALABAR Considero que el circo te permite aprender a solucionar problemas y diferencias; a escuchar a los demás y trabajar en equipo. También pude apreciar como mejora la autoestima de las personas haciendo que se rían de sus limitaciones, haciendo que dejen sus dolores en el escenario para volver limpios y esperanzados a su realidad. Es una locura que lo-cura todo. Ser profesor en la Escuela Social de Circo el Malabar es una oportunidad que tengo a diario para llegar a decenas de jóvenes y ver como ellos, con su propio esfuerzo y entusiasmo, transforman sus propias vidas. I think theater allows you to learn how to solve problems and differences; to listen others and work in teams. I was able to appreciate how it boost the self esteem of the people, making them laugh out of their limitations and leave their pains in the stage to come back clean and hopeful to their reality. It's a “Madness” that cures everything. Being a teacher in the Circus Social School represents a daily chance to reach out decens of young people and see like they do, with their endeavor and enthusiasm, they transform their own lives.

Tocar diferentes instrumentos me ha llenado de libertad, de grandes emociones y alegría, siempre es algo nuevo. Compartir con mis amigos y trabajar en equipo me ha enseñado a estar rodeada de buenas personas, a concentrarme y expresar lo que siento. Las canciones que aprendemos son latinoamericanas y me encantan porque puedo conectarme con ellas. Playing different instruments has filled me with freedom, big emotions and joy, it is always something new. Sharing with my friends and working in teams has taught me to be surrounded of good people, to focus and express what feel. The songs that we learn are latin american and I love them because I can connect to them.

Soy parte activa de un proyecto que ha beneficiado a más de 5000 personas entre niños, niñas, jóvenes y adultos de mi barrio, resignificando espacios que antes solo eran basureros, pintándolos, sembrando y construyendo de la mano con todos los vecinos. Con mis amigos voluntarios no solo gané una nueva familia. Tengo la oportunidad de movilizar personas y sentir cómo transformamos juntos la realidad de nuestra propia comunidad y a la vez sentir que empezamos a disfrutar de estos cambios. No solo en las calles y paredes, sino en la actitud de la gente que también se llenó de color. I´m an active part of a process that has benefited over 5000 people between children, teens and adults in my neighborhood, resignifying spaces that used to be dumpsters, painting them, planting and building sideways with neighbors. I not only have a new family with my volunteers friends, I also have the opportunity to shake people up and feel that together we can transform the reality of our own community, and at the same time, I feel like we are starting to enjoy those changes. Not only on the streets and walls, but in the attitude of the people that was also filled with color.

VOLUNTARIA PAzA LA PAZ Y SEMILLAS DE PAZ VOLUNTEER PAzA LA PAZ AND SEMILLAS DE PAZ Pasé de ser una joven tímida a liderar grandes grupos comunitarios por medio de la educación experiencial y la animación sociocultural. Ahora puedo planear, coordinar, evaluar y formar a más de 80 jóvenes como líderes comunitarios invitándolos a que transformen sus barrios, desde el arte, la cultura, la educación, los emprendimientos económicos, el deporte y diferentes temáticas sociales según el contexto de cada sector. En este proceso veo a muchos tímidos como era yo y eso me motiva más a seguir trabajando por ésto con mucho amor, el mismo que me dieron a mi en mis inicios. I went from being shy to lead community groups through Experiential Education and socio cultural animation. Now I can plan, coordinate, evaluate and train more than 80 young people as community leaders, inviting them to transform their own neighborhoods, through art, culture, education, economic development and entrepreneurship, sports and different social areas according to the context of every sector. In this process I see a lot of shy teenagers like I used to be and that motivates me even more to continue working with lots of love, the same love that was given to me from the start.

VOLUNTARIO / VOLUNTEER Ser clown hospitalario es sacar de lo cotidiano a niños con cáncer que esperan tu visita cada semana. Animar grupos juveniles es poder estar en contacto con otros jóvenes como yo para demostrarles que también pueden redescubrirse y compartir lo mejor de ellos. En Playlee, más que enseñar inglés jugando es poner a niños en contexto crítico en contacto con un nuevo idioma que es su primer paso para acceder a un nuevo mundo. Siento que mis habilidades personales se han convertido en sociales pues encontré un espacio para compartirlas con más personas. Being a medical clown is helping children with cancer to get out of their routine, as they wait for your visit every week. Animate groups of young people is being able to stay in touch with young people like me and prove they can also re discover themselves and share the best of them. In Playlee, beyond teaching english and playing, it is putting children into a critical context as they get in touch with a new language, and that is their first step to enter a new world. I feel that my personal skills have become social skills because I found a space to share them with more people. 13

PROFESOR Y PRESIDENTE YMCA RISARALDA TEACHER AND PRESIDENT OF YMCA RISARALDA Tener la oportunidad de viajar me permitió no solo conocer otros mundos sino regresar con ganas de recrearlos en mi ciudad. Que la gente que no pueda tener la misma posibilidad que yo tuve de salir, pueda vivirlas aquí en Colombia. Elegí el camino de compartir mi carrera de docente con ser dirigente voluntario y ahora, como presidente de la YMCA de mi ciudad, tengo esa gran oportunidad de demostrar que los jóvenes podemos gestionar con éxito una organización y proyectarla a más, para ser relevantes en nuestras realidades. Having the opportunity to travel abroad allow me not only to get to know different worlds, but to come back wanting to recreate them in my city. And people that can not have the same opportunity that I had, can live them here in Colombia. I chose the path of sharing my teaching career with being a volunteer leader, and now, as President of the YMCA of my city, I have a big opportunity to prove that young people can successfully manage an organization and go even further, being relevant in our realities.

ARTISTA Y VOLUNTARIO / ARTIST AND VOLUNTEER PAzA LA PAZ - SEMILLAS DE PAZ El clown es algo que me emociona, me pone alegre y me da ganas de pasármela riendo y saltando; me hace olvidar de mis problemas, puedo sacar mi niño interior sintiéndome libre y feliz. Lo he convertido en mi forma para tener fortaleza, superar mis problemas y además tener la oportunidad de compartir todo esto con los demás, cada vez que me subo a un escenario o visito algún barrio con otros voluntarios y voluntarias. He aprendido que puedo llevar conmigo la alegría a todas partes. Being a clown is something that excites me, it makes me happy and I feel like I want to laugh and jump all the time; it makes me forget my problems, I can take out my inner child and I feel free and happy. Having the opportunity to share all of this with others every time that I get up on a stage or visit some neighborhood with other volunteers, has been my strength, the way I can work through my issues and overcome my problems I've learnt that Joy is something I can carry everywhere.

Lo lindo de ir a la YMCA de Risaralda es regresar de nuevo, nada más emocionante que esforzarte por regresar a esos sitios donde amas sentirte viva y descubriéndote, donde sabes que hay un grupo de hermanos y hermanas esperándote para en otro lado del continente seguir sintiéndote feliz, amada y libre. En el año 2015 fui pasante de trabajo social por 6 meses en donde aprendí mucho sobre esta gran metodología de trabajo con comunidades vulnerables y en este año regresé por la fascinación que siento en este bello lugar. The beauty of going to the YMCA of Risaralda is to return again, nothing gets more exciting than to strive to return to those places where you love feeling alive and discovering yourself, where you know that there is a group of brothers and sisters waiting for you in another side of the continent, to continue feeling happy, loved and free. In 2015 I was a social work intern for 6 months where I learned a lot about this great work methodology with vulnerable communities and this year I returned for the fascination I feel for this beautiful place.

PARTICIPANTE PROGRAMA ICCP PARTICIPANT ICCP PROGRAM Me fui buscando un intercambio cultural en campamento y perfeccionar mi inglés, decidí trabajar en la cocina y terminé encontrándome con la familia Camp Echo, USA. Aprendí a que todas las cosas por más simples que fueran merecen ser exaltadas y agradecidas, era la cocina más diversa en la que he estado, pues estaba llena de salidas de campo, fogatas, recreación con niños, campo de cuerdas, actividades en el lago, caballos y compartir con muchas personas de diferentes partes del mundo. Mi mente se expandió y conoció más de ese gran mundo afuera, realmente eran amigos cercanos y un lugar lleno de naturaleza y paz. I left looking for a cultural exchange in a camp and perfect my English, I decided to work in the kitchen and ended up meeting with the Camp Echo family, USA. I learned that every little thing as simple as it can be deserves to be exalted and grateful. It was the most diverse kitchen in which I have ever been, because it was full of field trips, bonfires, recreation with children, ropes field, activities in the lake and horses. Sharing with so many people from different parts of the world broaden my mind and I knew more about that great world outside, they were really close friends and a place full of nature and peace. 17

Estoy seguro que todos disfrutamos de ese valor agregado que nos diferencia, el ser humano es lo más importante y por eso a través de la educación experiencial apoyamos su crecimiento integral. Recrearte is a dream come true, through the years we have trained skilled professionals who contribute holistically in each and every single person that participates in our services. It captivates me watching how children, teens and adults learn and grow together in every Recrearte Event. We believe that the human being is the most important thing and through experiential education we contribute to its integral growth. I'm confident we all enjoy that added value that difference us.
