About It’s fairly common to forget a person’s name the second you meet them. In a world of self-promotion, I wanted a name that wasn’t my own to capture the essence of my work whilst sticking in people’s minds. Melted Park is a term which I find describes this accurately. With a focus on illustrative design and digital manipulation, Melted Park embodies the personality of my work. - Lachlan Heydon Melted Park

“Drome” Album Art Illustrated, Vectorised “Drome” is a lo-fi punk album from the band Stone Witches. The idea proposed was “oozing”. The logo and imagery were hand drawn and then vectorised in illustrator, before finally manipulated further in Photoshop. The text was then used to mock up tour merch to promote the album, as well as a resizing of the original album art to be sold as a poster.

“Machine Efficient” Album Art Photography, Digital Manipulation “Machine Efficient” is the secondary album from the band Stone Witches. The brief proposed was “high contrast” and “machinery”. The cover was completed by digitally cutting out a portrait and manipulating the image in photoshop with assorted images of circuitry.

Videography Video, Digital Composites
Multiple music videos and promo videos. These were shot with band members against a green screen, with the footage then being imported into After Effects for further manipulation. “Televised Genocide (left) used old informercials and tape destruction effects to create the aesthetic desired.

“Void. Mind. Now.” used the same techniques as “Televised Genocide”, with extensive focus on chroma keying to achieve the motion featured on the mask of each band member. Various visual effects were used to emulate a VHS style.

“Vision Fissure, Dream Digger took a different approach of shooting in one take using a mock-up vinyl. A design was created and carefuly stuck onto an existing vinyl to create the mock-up.

“Feeder Tease” was a promotional video used to tease the upcoming release of a Stone Witches album. This video took on a ‘vox-pop’ style, employing chroma key effects to remove the background. The video also used overlaid images and the key-framing of backgrounds and saturation to bring colour in and out.

Melted Records Illustrated, digital design.
Melted Records is a record label based on the Gold Coast, which focuses on bands that shy away from the high fidelity, polished studio sound that is prominent in the industry. The website design was chosen to reflect the simple DIY style of the internet in the early 2000s when HTML was king. Merchandise is a huge part of record labels now as fans will flock to whatever music is put out.

Tiny Minds Illustrated, digital design.
Tiny Minds is a booking agency and artist management company founded in 2017 by Jariah Travan. The logo was designed with the types of artists that would be managed in mind. The website demonstrates a simple but straightforward concept that lets the artists do the talking. An alternate logo was designed for merchandise and the solid black used for forms of stationery.

Analogue Magazine Illustrated, digital design.
Analogue Magazine is a publication that focuses on the punk scene which is often neglected by print media. Designed with the ideas of old school skate and punk magazines in mind, the idea was to capture the essence of print media before computers were involved. The images selected are purposely meant to appear shot live, to avoid the studio style which dominates today.
