Experience a rugged, timeless way of life with a man locals know as Trapper Paul. A Métis man from a long line of trappers, Paul leads visitors on guided tours of his wilderness trapline, letting guests discover the traditional livelihood that sustained his ancestors and many others. Paul’s approach to trapping teaches balance and stewardship of the land, never taking more than it can provide. Visitors experience a form of living history, dabbling in a modern version of the fur trade, the industry that changed the face of North America.

Winefred Lake Outfitters functions as a beautiful year-round retreat with cabins for rent in the far northeastern corner of Lac La Biche Region. Guided hunting and fishing experiences are also available, including ice fishing.
