Active Start 1

This multisport program helps preschoolers develop the fundamentals of physical literacy. We will focus on basic body movements such as running, skipping, hopping, kicking, and throwing a ball, etc. This program is led by certified Physical Literacy instructor with parent(s) & child(ren) supported through activity stations with time for free play at the end. Childmind is open at this time if needed.

DANCEPL3Y Preschool

Introduce your child to dance in a fun and playful way! The DANCEPL3Y preschool program focuses on the development of physical literacy and FUNdamental movement skills, which are the ABCs of healthy growth and development. Your child will explore a variety of dance genres through imaginative and engaging story lines that take them around the world as they develop musicality, social skills, and confidence with movement! Clean indoor shoes and water bottle are required.

YOGAPL3Y Kids allows children to explore their own physical capabilities in a non-competitive and accepting environment. Weekly themed classes allow participants to experience both challenge and success and are inclusive of everyBODY. Through our interACTIVE classes, kids PLAY with yoga while strengthening their mind-body connection and their connection with others. In June 2022, the Alberta Government and KidSport Alberta announced new funding to help get more Alberta Kids and youth active! Here are a few aspiring stories of local youth who regularly participate in sport. likes the Boston Celtics, eventhough they lost the finals. Towards the last 15 minutes of practice Metin divides us into teams and lets us play a real basketball game which I really like.

How often do you play?

Hahaha yes, as soon as I wake up, I go outside to practice shooting hoops. I also love playing basketball with my dad and brothers. My aunt (who is also my neighbour) tells me that she hears me dribbling the ball every morning and that’s how she wakes up.

How does playing basketball make you feel?

playing basketball relaxes me, makes me feel confident and excited when I accomplish something. And it also makes me feel like an athlete.
