Check list (suggestion) This list is a suggestion. It does not claim to be complete. It should be packed nothing which can not be disposed properly, for example batteries and electronic devices. 1. Clothes              

Pyjamas 2 Jeans Light trousers 1 trouser, which can become dirty 1-2 Shirts with long sleeves in case of sun burn or to protect from mosquitos T-shirts, tops Shorts Waterproof jacket/poncho Fleece jacket for cold mornings and evenings 2 thin towels (so they dry faster) Cap / hat – to protect your head from the sun Underwear Not necessary: Sleeping bag Not necessary: swim trunks o swimsuit

2. Shoes    

(Who wants to: Rubber boots. It can get muddy on the field trips, but you can also take firm shoes which can get dirty. In any case: Rubber boots can be bought in Jinotega on the market.) Firm shoes for field trips Flip-flops or sandals Sneakers, e.g. for receptions

3. For entertainment   

Game of cards or other games, especially those which work without a lot of explanation (also for the cultural night which is planned) Instruments – who plays, e.g. gitarre (also for the cultural night which is planned) Who is interested in flowers or insects can bring a magnifying glass (Handlupe, une loupe, una lupa/lente de aumento)

4. Documents     

Passport, vaild for another six months / valide pour plus que six mois. A copie of your passport in case of loss / une copie de votre passeport. The copie should be put in another place (for example your suitcase). Vaccination certificate / certificado de vaccunación / carnet de vaccination (Impfausweis) (Make a copie as well and put it in another place.) Expression of your ticket and your travel cancellation insurance (if you have). Cash card or take with you pocket money in US$ that you change in Jinotega.

Mosquito repellent with DEET / lotion antimostique avec DEET (Bombe insecticide avec DEET) Suncream (protection factor 50 for those which are not used to so much sun) A little sew-set Plaster/Band-Aid A cure for itches and swelling caused by bites (e.g. Fenistil) A cure for Dirrhoea A cure for pain (e.g. Paracetamol) Electrolyte

6. Hygien products -

Deodorant (Ladies, please note: In the supermarkets is only one size of tampon available: small.)

7. Useful things          

US-Adapter for wall sockets (fiche d’alimentation americaine; enchufe americano) Money belt for valuable things (money, cash card, passport). In La Cuculmeca is also a safe box. Flashlight A whistle to direct everybodys attention on you in case of an emergency. (Penknife/navaja/un couteau de poche) Plastic bags for wet or dirty stuff Camera plus battery charger and memory card A small notebook for adresses, important telephone numbers, notes A little album with fotos of family, friends, hobbies etc. to begin talks more easily A little lexicon french-spanish-german and maybe a illustrated dictionary / diccionario gráfico / dictionnaire illustré for informal conversations.
