Its coastal landscape allowed a dynamic development to be in contact with the sea therefore to other parts of the world. It constitutes the relationship between the natural and the artificial (Built: Puerto Colombia Pier as the main urban axis development). Therefore, the cultural landscape was developed with the rooted idea of the sea and the pier, as Landmark associated with the natural component and cultural heritage.

CONCEPT
SEA
The project is based on the dynamic and static idea, which is represented in the coastal landscape as between the waves movement of the sea (dynamic) and the land (static) 1
Architectural Intervention Puerto Colombia Pier
It has the sun and the stars, the winds, the currents, the birds and their own colors. Image of the City, Kevin Linch Shaper Landscape of the Puerto Colombia beaches.

Based on this duality and the idea of the pier, the architecture has to represent the waves through platforms that rotate around it. The design of the 3 pavilions of the Cultural Complex (water, immigrants and culture pavilions) continue with the same logic of the platforms but these acquire a hierarchy symbolizing or recreate the image of the ship arrived at the pier.
Recreating
Downtown Puerto Colombia Section
Dynamic Platforms Within the Pier path, it is located a series of platforms, which are designed to accompany your walk journey. Every platform is located 100 m. Each space is dynamic and adaptable to any kind of person. These mainly fulfill 3 activities that are: Recreating, fishing and observing. The order of these platforms follows the waves idea as dynamic and changing elements. The platforms are distributed in rotations of 30 and 60 degrees. Within these 3 groups of activities, there are two fixed platforms and one mobile which can move every 100m inside the pier or on the open sea. 15

Water Pavilion
Water pavilion aims to generate a tribute to a natural element, that is so impor tant in our society, The Water. It intends to teach in a didactic way about the water and its states. Also, it has a room in homage to the Magdalena River, which provides food and an economic resource to the region.

The coastal ecosystems aquarium is exhibited medium-sized fish and different examples of marine ecosystems like algae. Besides, highlight the role of the Swamps in the ecosystem, creating awareness for their recovery. Inside the pavilion, there is a flood zone, where you can hear sea noises and stories of people from the region and tourists. Section C4

Cultural pavilion aims to promote municipality folk groups by providing them a space in the middle of the sea. It has a library with a view throught the sea which allows contemplating it and being in a quiet space. Like the theater, the cafeteria has a view towards the interior of the project and outside Risota and Nisperal hills and the sea.

Puerto Colombia granted the name of Golden door (Puerta de Oro) to Barranquilla since the merchandise entered and exported through this pier and it was the door where some foreigners arrived in our country. Therefore, Immigrant Pavilion is a tribute for those who entered into Colombia and formed part of the region history.

Water bodies order and structure the territory. Pasto River with its tributaries and geography gives us a guideline to project inter and intra urban corridors that link the territory.
The water system recovery become the structuring and articulating element between the polycentric centers (downtown villages) and Pasto city. Promoting meeting points and landscape observation.
The adaptation of urban and rural roads that connect the city are modal exchange points and promote economic exchange, development and competitiveness
Two edge concepts are projected 1. Edge of development is the threshold between the ecological reserve and the urban space of the city, where the economic activity of the land is strengthened (agricultural use) 2. Natural edge defined by an ecological corridor.

Museum of Independence - Urban Landmark
Project Summary Through history, Candelaria as the first settlement of the city. It had transitioned from a residential role to a tourist and educational role, causing its local population to change for a temporary population. Therefore, it is important to reactivate the residential dynamics in the sector, in order to generate an identity and appropriation of the space, making it a place where any citizen can live, but not just for visitors. That is why we propose a housing project for different users that are part of La Candelaria.
