Trouble BIG
More possible illegal and fraudulent activities are coming to light and it seems like the hammer is about to drop on the Maruleng Municipality.

Saturday is the Classic Clashes between Ben Voster and PHS. Since it is no longer Ben Voster against Merensky, are you still interested and are you going to support the players?
Lino De Carvalho it is sad that the derby between the 2 local schools has been cancelled , but i respect Merensky’s decision , i personally think that Sport outside the province is unnecessary and places severe financial stress on the schools and on the parents, Bobbi Gerber Ek steun jou heelhartig, Thea!
Eerder dan as
Dan wonder Vlieg so by homself. Is alle eendersdenkende eendersdenkendes net dom?
• Die mense hoor as jy tsjainies of taiwanies of jeppinies wil praat, moet jy hard oefen. Tyre, tai-one, tai-xhaust, taitjieng, taitill, tainice...
The Greater Tzaneen Municipality’s council meeting, held in the Nkowankowa Community Hall on Tuesday, set the stage for some interesting announcements, one of which was the installation of prepaid meters. The council approved the installation of the meters in Flora Park. To ensure the smooth running of the process, a separate department within the electrical engineering department will be established to deal solely with prepaid electricity in the GTM. New prepaid electricity connections will also be made to existing prepaid installations in Politsi, Tarentaalrand, Lemoenfontein, Talana and Tamahansi. This is a provision that the GTM has made for maintenance and capital expenditure, which includes changing all old equipment. The project will be funded by the money generated from fines for tampering with prepaid meters. This should create job opportunities, as the director of engineering services has been given the goahead to request additional personnel. The GTM should also be rid of all temporary contractors by the end of June. The council adopted a proposal to have all temporary positions advertised internally, and filled. There is also good news for the GTM employees whose contracts were terminated by end of March, as their contracts will be extended until end of June. Among the administrative issues the GTM council also decided to change the pay day for municipal employees’ salaries; from the last Friday of every month to the 25th of every month. This change will be implemented by the end of June, according to the GTM’s finace department. — Beaunice Mnisi

Agatha’s electricity woes may be over breakdowns in communication. This is something that both parties have agreed to work on, to ensure better service. Reiners said the Agatha community is prepared to work with the electrical department and offered to help clear the bushes around electrical lines. The meeting will become a custom and Reiners confirmed that they will be meeting with the electrical department officials once a month. — Beaunice Mnisi beaunice@bulletin.us.com

The community of Agatha on the mountain outside Tzaneen can look forward to monthly meetings to solve their electrical woes. Community members agreed upon these meetings with the electrical department of the GTM during their AGM — which was held last week. The outging chairman, Rev Ron Reiners, said after the meeting it was ma great success. The members of the Agatha community met with officials from the electrical department, with the aim of resolving some of the issues that were hampering the provision of electricity. The Agatha community has been plagued by severe power outages. This has led to countless complaints by this farming community, which is heavily reliant on electricity to sustain their livelihood. The power outages have lasted two to three days at a time, something that the community said they will not tolerate any longer. According to Reiners the relationship between the Agatha community and the electrical department has been inundated with

Ds Barry vd Merwe

Nie in ‘n woordeboek nie,.
Die Demokratiese Alliansie verwerp enige negatiewe, rassistiese of aanstootlike uitsprake of taalgebruik.
Been warned
Henry J Furter writes: I refer to the letter of one Wayne du Preez in the Bulletin of Friday, 24 May, referring to abusive language and or the use of a word that should no longer be used in South Africa, by officials of the Democratic Alliance. This shocking behaviour should not be tolerated by the DA, or any other political party for that matter. What is upsetting is that the party’s leadership in Limpopo ignored warnings about this despicable conduct. Why was this serious matter put on the back burner by the leadership? This must certainly be one of the biggest challenges facing the DA in the months running up to general elections. Will the party show guts and act against the councillors and other official(s) who are guilty of not only causing serious embarrassment to the DA, but indeed to white South Africans in

Dankie

DA opposed budget Anza van Vuuren, GTM counsillor writes: At the GTM’s council meeting held on 28 May 2013, the annual budget and IDP were presented for adoption. The DA voted not in favour of the budget, for the same three reasons given for voting against the preliminary budget presented during the meeting held in March 2013: we rejected all entertainment votes, the mayor’s bursary fund and the percentage increase to various items concerning day-to-day service delivery. The DA maintains that money spent on entertainment should rather be applied in favour of service delivery. The DA argued that an annual bursary fund of R400 000 is insufficient to allow even one student’s tertiary education, while this amount can cover the supply of many kiloliters of water in our rural areas. The ruling party replied that the money isn’t used to subsidise studies as such. It was unclear from this reply what the bursary fund is then actually utilized for. In light of the current economic situation, the DA argued that it would be at least a token of goodwill to only apply a 5% flat rate as increase to the various taxes and items of service delivery. With regard to the IDP, the DA congratulated and thanked the municipal officials for their positive effort in compiling it. We voted in favour of the IDP on condition that the municipal manager will submit to council a prioritised list of operational projects by November. This will also adhere to the advice of the auditor general who downgraded the GTM from a qualified report to a disclaimer. The DA strongly supported the mayor who ended her speech with “our people deserve better”.
Soustreinryers

Oubal was teenwoordig ty-

Verskeie partye het gebaat by Vrydag se gholfdag deur Samsung Business Solutions Letaba.

Soete wraak 31 May 2013
Verloor is verloor, ja.
After running a ten kilometer marathon and making it through to the first position, the last word that Talenta Chauke wanted to hear was the word “disqualified.” She had prepared well to take the title and go home with the prize. Earlier in the morning before the marathon started, Chauke and her schoolmates from Mavalani High School had been told that apart from the registration fee they had come with, they needed to pay an extra R25 for licence tickets that would allow them to run. However, as students coming from a rural village, they did not have money for it, and had negotiated that they be allowed to run Talenta Chauke at the finishing line, winning the marathon.
without the licences, to which the organisers are said to have agreed to. Chauke’s joy turned into tears when she was disqualified after finishing her race in the first position. “We got money that was enough to cover only for the registration from our school, not knowing that there would be R25 needed for licences. In the past we ran without it,” explained Chauke. Just like her name, which means “talent” in English, the 18 year-old is a very talented running. She has already collected a handful of gold medals and holds one record. She qualified to proceed to represent her school at the national level last year, but missed the bus that was supposed to take them to Jo’burg. Her former trainer, Nyeleti Mathebula, said the girl was very talented and could be a next Caster Seminya. “Since the age of seventeen she has won every race she entered for”. Fortunately the chairperson of Vumundzuku Youth Empowerment,
which initiated the event with the help of Gazamed as the main sponsor, said they will give her the gold medal since the race was meant to uplift the youth. “It would be unfair to disqualify her because she didn’t have money to buy the licence,” he said. — Orlando Chauke

Although they still have two matches to play before they complete their Safa second division league activities, Nobela All Stars have already been relegated to the lower division. Their relegation to the SAB League was confirmed by their 1-1 draw against Giyani Hotspurs in Giyani last Saturday. Nobela All Stars are languishing at the bottom of the log with 20 points, six behind the other relegation candidates, Baobab Zero Fake, Lephalale Young Killers and Phungo All Stars. Young Killers have two matches in hand while Phungo All Stars are left with only one match to complete their league programme. Even if Lephalale Young Killers and Phungo All Stars lose all their outstanding matches and Nobela win theirs, it will make no difference to their standing on the log as Nobela had conceded the highest number of goals. Baobab Zero Fake will accompany Nobela All Stars to the SAB league. Zero Fake have 26 points and they have competed their league programme, as they have played 30 matches to date. Modimolle Aces and Ray Pillars are also not safe when it comes to relegation. They have deposited 27 points into their league accounts each. Should they lose their remaining matches and Phungo All Stars and Lephalale Young Killers win their outstanding matches, Ray Pillars and Modimolle Aces will go down. Rospa United, who escaped the relegation axe by the skin of their teeth last season, are lying in the eighth position on the log. Baroka FC are gearing up for the promotional play-offs for the third time in a row. They completed their league programme on top of the log with 74 points, eight behind Magezi FC. Winners Park, who have been chasing the league title since the beginning of the season, completed their programme in the third position with 62 points
