‘Bedelaars’ Bekende inwoners van Tzaneen het Woensdagmiddag die strate ingevaar, om reklame te maak vir Helpende Hand (HH) se bewustheidsveldtog. Helpende Hand is die vakbond Solidariteit se spesiale formasie waardeur behoeftiges in die gemeenskap bygestaan word. Inwoners van Tzaneen sal voortaan meer van HH sien en hoor en mense kan gerus dié verdienstelike saak ruimhartig ondersteun en help.

Workers of the Greater Tzaneen Municipality complain that they are being neglected and that whilst their seniors drive around in smart cars, they can’t get protective clothing. On Monday this week they decided that they will go on strike, in an effrort to force the GTM to take note of their problems. Ons het hom toevallig by die ingang van die Mediclinic Tzaneen opgemerk, waar hy vir ‘n opvolgondersoek by dr Gert van der Merwe (sjirurg) en dr Pieter Mostert (internis) was. Hy beweer hy het ‘n “clean bill of health” gekry en die dokters sê alhoewel hulle nie weet watse siekte hy onder lede gehad het nie, lyk die toekoms vir hom rooskleurig gesond — mits hy ‘n bietjie afskaal met die rookgewoonte. GTM’s workers vow to continue strike over protective clothing Greater Tzaneen Municipality workers downed tools on Monday when they embarked on a strike for better working conditions and personal protective equipment (PPE). The group vowed to continue with their strike action until the town management addresses their grievances. Workers affiliated to the South African Municipal Workers’ Union (Samwu) in the GTM’s Electro-technical department embarked on this strike this week, as they claim that their employer (GTM) is not placing their wellbeing and safety in the workplace on the top of their priority list. One worker who spoke on condition of anonymity said employees work using their own clothing. “Workers are without gloves, helmets, overalls and masks. We are not safe from injury and diseases,” said the worker. He added that they have been pleading with the GTM for the past two years on several occasions to engage management on these matters but, unfortunately, they were not successful. “We are therefore left with no option but to prepare to fight because we can’t work without uniform, while our seniors drive in luxury vehicles,” the worker said.
The employees allege they had a meeting with the GTM’s council last week but they could not reach a consensus. A 47-year-old man, employed as a general worker for the past fifteen years said working without gloves is painful and he is also forced to work wearing his own clothes. Samwu’s Tzaneen local chairperson, Mr Victor Manyama, said he was in a workshop at Mbombela from Monday and was thus not aware of the situation. He suggested Bulletin should speak to the local secretary, Mr Patric Maake. Maake could not be reached for comment and his phone went unsanswered despite numerous attempts. Spokesperson for the Greater Tzaneen Municipality, Mr Neville Ndlala, said he was not aware that the workers had stopped working. “Let me find out and I will get back to you,” he said.At the time of going to print, Ndlala had still not returned with comment on the situation as promised. — Phidelia Rikhotso

Smit Garrun staff obtain special qualification The Smit Garrun group who sucessfully completed the special course. It was not easy to obtain this qualification. Several education service providers stopped half way and every time we had to start all over again. So says Mr Koos Smit, the CEO of Smit Garrun in Tzaneen. He and eight of his staff members have sucessfully completed an important Insurance Seta (Inseta)* qualification. “We have great appreciation for Brian Domoney from ITS Insurance Technical School who gave the training and persisted with all the administrative battles. Each one of the staffers had to complete at least 1 500 hours of study to obtain the qualification. Smit did the full course with his staff, as it was important for him to know what they were being taught. Smit was so impressed with the course and the Seta system that he inspired the Garrun Group to start their own accredited Insurance school. It has been approved and Tim Timmerman, who has been a broker for several years, took up the challenge and he has
since been accredited as learner provider with Inseta on behalf of the Garrun Group. The Garrun Group is now officially a learner service provider in the short term insurance industry and is presently assisting 103 students within the group to complete their RPL qualifications. Countrywide there are 61 new students enrolled to complete all 150 credits. *The purpose of the Inseta is to grow the pool and quality of scarce and critical skills in the insurance sector, enhancing the sector and supporting the country’s transformation. Merensky’s first cricket team spice up India During the recent holidays Merensky’s first cricket boys, accompanied by their coach, Mr Pieter van der Merwe, and his wife Magriet, together with Mr Joubert Fourie visited India for a tour never to be forgotten. After the initial disappointment of lost luggage on their arrival in Delhi, the boys were in awe of the Indian culture and the “no rules” traffic. Their first taste of Indian opposition came on day three when they
played against a Delhi Public School. The boys were chomping at the bit, and kicked their tour off with a bang by comprehensively defeating their opposition. Timothy Elphinstone was awarded man of the match for his performance. With tired, zombie-like bodies, the boys took on DPS Aligarh on Day 4 of the tour. After a heart-warming welcome by the principal, the Plasies showed true fighting spirit to only just go down against tough opposition spurred on by their fellow scholars. The boys then had to muster up as much energy as they could for their third consecutive game on Day 5 of the tour. Despite being jet lagged, the Plasies managed

to shrug off the opposition, with a man of the match performance by Salmaan Ishani. On a relaxing day off, they visited the breath-taking Taj Mahal and Red Fort in Agra. They then faced a gruelling (five hour) drive to Jaipur. On Day 7 they faced off against Jashree Periwal International School where they put up a strong fight but were unable to stop their opponents from narrowly taking the game. They then faced Subodh Public School in their last match. They were yet again showed great hospitality and lost out against fiery opposition with a strong home advantage. Their last day in India featured plenty of sightseeing. They even had the honour of experiencing an elephant ride in the Elephant Village in Jaipur. What followed was yet another long drive back to Delhi. Weary to the bone, but excited beyond measure, they boarded for the long flight to home sweet home.

Negentien Presidentstoekenningslede van die Hoërskool Merensky het onlangs hul brons toekennings ontvang. Die meeste van hulle is reeds besig om aan die vereistes vir silwer te werk. Daarvoor moet hulle
‘n sport vir ses maande beoefen, ses maande bestee aan ‘n vaardigheid, 48 uur diens lewer en met rugsakke op ‘n driedagstaptog van 48 km gaan. Twee lede van Merensky het reeds hul silwer toekennings ontvang.
Revue was skouspelagtig Die Hoërskool Ben Vorster het verlede week ‘n revue van absoluut hoogstaande gehalte aangebied. Die toeskouers het vasgenael gesit en kyk hoe die Vossies ‘n sprankelende verwerking van die Disney-rolprent Decendants opvoer.

Belastingbetalende inwoners van Tzaneen kla op strepe dat hulle nie antwoorde op belangrike vrae uit senior amptenare van die Groter Tzaneen Munisipaliteit kan kry nie — dikwels oor belangrike sake met ernstige potensiële finansiële verlies. Alternatiewelik moet mense onaanvaarbaar lank wag, voordat die burokrasie uiteindelik iemand vind wat die inwoner kan help of van raad kan bedien. Wat is die probleem? Is dit die swak voorbeeld wat die topstruktuur stel en klakkeloos deur die ondergeskiktes nagevolg word? Is dit gebrekkige kennis en/of ervaring van (junior?) amptenare? Is dit swak opleiding? Is dit dalk gewoon naakte arrogansie? Ons meen dit is ‘n mengsel van al dié dinge, plus nog ‘n paar ander gebreke wat bygevoeg kan word. Of die nuwe minister wat plaaslike regering uit die duisternis moet lei — na ordentlike dienslewering — die pyp gaan rook, sal net die tyd kan leer. Sy eie party het hom geweeg en te lig bevind, toe die president die glips gemaak en hom as minister van finansies aangestel het (vir ‘n paar uur). Die regering sê nou, op die vooraand van munisipale verkiesings, dienslewering op grondvlak en die munisipaliteite moet in rat kom. Ons stem saam. Maar... dit gaan nie oornag gebeur nie en die verval is nog lank nie verby nie.

’n Koerant het misleidende en lasterlike berigte oor ’n man geplaas. Hy het na ‘n regsgeleerde gegaan om raad te vra. Die regsgeleerde het geduldig na die man se klagtes geluister en hom die volgende raad gegee: “Moet niks doen nie. Die helfte van die mense wat die koerant koop, het die berig nie gesien nie. Die helfte van die mense wat die berig gesien het, het dit nie gelees nie. Die helfte van die mense wat dit gelees het, het dit nie verstaan nie. Die helfte van die mense wat die berig verstaan het, ken jou en glo dit nie. Die helfte van die mense ken jou nie en steur hulle nie daaraan nie. Die helfte van die mense wat die berig glo, se mening is in elk geval nie belangrik nie.” Wat belangriker is as ander mense se mening van ’n mens, is wat ’n mens van jouself weet en dink. Nog belangriker as ons eie mening oor onsself, is wat God van ons weet. “Die hart is bedriegliker as enigiets anders… wie kan hom verstaan? Ek, die Here deurgrond en toets hart en verstand” (Jeremia 17:9 - 10). Die belangrikste is of ons omgee wat God van ons weet. Dit was Dawid se pleitgebed tot God dat Hy aan Dawid sal bekendmaak wat God van sy dienskneg weet, en wat die Here van hom dink: “Deurgrond my, o God, deurgrond my hart, ondersoek my… kyk of ek nie op die verkeerde pad is nie…”(Psalm 139:23). Besorgdheid oor hoe God ons lewe beoordeel, hou ons geestelike lewe gesond. Psalm 35:19-28: “Hulle rek hulle monde teen my oop… maar U het gesien dit is nie so nie… tree tog vir my in my God.”
Twelve years ago, on 23 April 2004, the Bulletin carried on the front page a nightmare report about a man from Letsitele who was shot at point blank by three robbers. Mr Danie Lombard (then 39 years old) fortunately recovred from the shots that penetrated his abdomen. In an exclusive report the newspaper also reported about an incident during which a domestic worker was bitten by an American Pitbull Terrier, and later died in the Van Velden Hospital. The photo of the lady on the front page was of Ms Jana van der Linde of Tzaneen, after she had been crowned as Limpopo’s Bride of the Future.
So sê Kieswet Mnr Frederick Pohl van Tzaneen, skryf per e-pos: Ek rig hierdie brief om kiesers in te lig oor die kiesersregistrasieproses en gevolg van die verwarring wat heers oor die name van kiesers op die kiesersrol. Die verwarring kom aangesien Art 8 voorskryf dat die Hoofkiesbeampte nie ‘n persoon mag registreer nie wat: • Op ‘n bedrieglike wyse aansoek gedoen het, of anders aansoek gedoen het as op die voorgeskrewe wyse • Nie ‘n SA burger is nie • Deur die Hoërhof geestesversteurd verklaar is • Aangehou word onder die Geestes Gesondheidwet,1973 (Wet No 18 van 1973)

In terme van Artikel 11 moet die Hoofkiesbeampte van die OVK die Kiesersrol wysig as hy oortuig is dat die kieser se besonderhede op die Kiesersrol verander het, en nie korrek is nie, of, ‘n kieser deregistreer as hy oortuig is dat die persoon nie meer kwalifiseer en voldoen aan die vereistes om te registreer as kieser nie. Die OVK moet ‘n persoon in kennis stel in terme Artikel 12 van die Kieswet voordat ‘n persoon van die Kiesersrol verwyder kan word. Kieswet wees, maar ook in stryd met die Wet op die bevordering van Adminstratiewe geregtigheid (PAJA). Dit moet ook in terme van die Gemenereg voldoen aan die reëls van Natuurlike Geregtigheid soos vervat is in die PAJA wetgwing, wat vereis dat enige persoon kennis moet kry indien sy regte deur ‘n administratiewe besluit geraak word en dat die persoon die geleentheid moet kry om sy saak te stel, en ook appèl aan te teken indien hy nie tevrede is met die besluit van ‘n administratiewe beampte nie. Kiesers kan ook beswaar maak in terme van Artikel 15 van die Kieswet teen die Kiesersrol en die besware moet op die voorgeskrewe wyse gedoen en hanteer word in term van Artikel 15. Dit is dus duidelik dat indien ‘n kieser geregistreer is, al kort sy adres, kan hy nie sondermeer van die Kieserrol verwyder word sonder dat die voorgeskrewe stappe geneem is nie. Kiesers kon steeds hul besonderhede nagegaan en geregistreer het by die OVK se kantore tot die datum wat die verkiesing amptelik geproklameer is.

Audience held captive Last week Tuesday the Merensky school hall was packed with spectators to enjoy the first Thrilling Tuesday of 2016. As tradition dictates, pupils from the MDDA showcase their talents on a bi-annual basis in conjunction with the Grade 11 hospitality students. A scrumptious three course meal was served whilst the audience welcomed several promising newcomers to the Plasie stage. Eyre Koekemoer and Suandrie Corbett thrilled with dance items, while Heinrich Schulze proved his talent on the saxophone. No less than three Grade 8 drama groups also experienced their first opportunity to perform. Old favourites like Rudolph Beetge, Janco Theron and Danzi Ivy showed that they will once again be creative forces to be reckoned with in 2016.

Local Government & the news that matters Local elections are around the corner. Bulletin will henceforth address various issues affecting the residents of the local municipalities in our area: Mopani District Municipality, Greater Tzaneen Municipality, Greater Letaba Municipality, Maruleng Municipality and Ba-Phalaborwa Municipality. The kick-off for our new series about local government matters, on the eve of the municipal elections, has not resulted in any reaction from the Greater Tzaneen Municipality. We sent a list of questions (read below) to
the GTM’s spokesperson, Mr Neville Ndlala, at 13:00 on Monday 18 April. He asked us to allow 48 hours for him to respond to media enquiries. We did so and even extended our deadline for his reply to 14:30 on
Wednesday 20 April, but to no avail. We thus publish our side of the story and Ndlala’s regular complaints that we are unreasonable and that we do not practice ethical journalism etcetera is expected as a response.

Left shows a close up of the damage caused by vandals to the turnstile access system installed at the entrance to the swimming bath complex. This also has still not been repaired.
Three months have passed since the GTM’s lifeguard training programme launched and failed. The R17 million swimming bath complex now stands as empty as the promises made to the public, of a fully functional aquatic facility that was to benefit the local economy. Without lifeguards, the facility is to remain closed to the public, which in turn means a loss of revenue to the GTM, as the turnstiles have yet to welcome a single paying customer. In the meantime local rate payers foot the bill for security and pool maintenance, the monthly cost of which remains undisclosed. Vandals left their mark on the newly fitted turnstile access system installed at the entrance to the bath. An entire section of the face brick and palisade boundary wall has collapsed. The luscious green lawn surrounding the swimming bath itself, has grown knee high and can be seen creeping over the cement towards the edge of the bath. The question thus arises: What is happening at the R17 million public swimming bath?

Culprits caught
During the past week the police in the Tzaneen cluster have locked up 97 people for various criminal offences. In Tzaneen the police arrested 49 people for assault, assault GBH, violation of a protection order, shoplifting, theft, possession of dagga, possession of a dangerous weapon, public drinking, drunken driving, illegal gambling, counterfeit goods, failure to comply with the Liquor Act, failure to comply with Road Traffic Act. In Bolobedu 34 culprits were arrested over the past week, in connection with attempted murder, intimidation, theft, attempted rape, assault GBH, arson, reckless and negligent driving, assault, malicious damage to property, Road Traffic Act offences and a maintenance order. In Maake fourteen people were arrested for assault GBH, assault, intimidation, illegal gambling, malicious damage to property, possession of dagga, cultivating dagga and one for contravening the Road Traffic Act.

Const Millicent Mohale said a group of eleven people aged between 18 and 47 from Rotterdam went to a house in the village, searching for an alleged murder suspect who was rumoured to be hiding there. “Upon their arrival they intimidated a woman while demanding her to show them the alleged perpetrator,” Mohale said. The suspects appeared in Bolobedu Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday and the cased was remanded. Violence erupted at Ga-Kgapane when a group of about 400 protesters from the villages of Las Vegas and Ga-Mapaana intensified their action demanding the release of three suspects arrested for arson. It is alleged that the group together with the arrested suspects set alight three houses belonging to the suspected men, whom are believed to have murdered and mutilated a couple’s body parts. The protests over police believed to be protecting criminals erupted on Thursday. The group of more than 400 people including children threw stones at police officers, their barracks and the police station buildings, before protesters set out to a detective’s house and broke the windows and set his house alight, as well as some offices.

They better stop now and move away from these acts,” Ngoepe said. Ngoepe concluded by saying a 24 hour communication channel was created between the Police and the business communities, including a contingency plan in case of criminal activities would occur.

Whose responsibility is this? The police, the GTM, the post office?

Plasies speel gholf by Sun City Pfunanane Academy in Modjadjiksloof had a strong showing at the first LIMA cross country meeting of the year, held in Moletjie. Pfunanane’s athletes won seven medals. A highlight of the day was getting to meet Caster Semenya, pictured here with the Pfunanane LIMA team and their medal winners.
Die Hoërskool Merensky se eerste gholfspan het gedurende die skoolvakansie saam met mnr Danie Olivier ‘n driedagtoer na Sun City onderneem. Hulle het in ‘n toernooi met vyf ander skole deelgeneem. Die span het die toernooi begin deur by Pecanwood Golf & Country Club in Hartbeespoort af te slaan, waar 18 putjies geVoor: Danie Olivier (afrigter), Johan Meintjies en Armand Fourie. Agter: speel is. Die volgende twee dae het hulle die beroemde Gary John-Hendrik Muller, Setshaba Masehela en Luka Andoire-Chandler.
Vossies ruk Ellisparkgras onder Jeppe se voete uit! En daar maak Ben Vorster toe of Ellispark hul tuisveld is. Hulle het hulle min gesteur aan die probleme met die gras en sand en die gras behoorlik onder Jeppe — in sommige kringe beskou as die vierde beste skoolspan in die land — se voete uitgepluk! Viva, Vossies, viva! Vir die Vossies was dit ‘n groot eer om in Johannesburg op Emirates Airlink Park teen die span van Jeppe Boys High te staan te kom, in ‘n voorwedstryd vir die Lions teen die Stormers. En by groot eer het dit vir die meeste mense opgehou. Die Vossies is nie veel van ‘n kans gegun om dié kragmeting te wen nie, behalwe vir die getroue en lojale Tzaneeners.
Die Vossies het egter vir ‘n groot opskudding gesorg, toe hulle die hoogaangeskrewe span van Jeppe oortuigend ore aangesit het. Jeppe word gereken as een van die toptien spanne in die land. Hulle het vanjaar al vir Waterkloof, Eldoraigne, Kemptonpark en Queens College gewen. Jeppe het ook twee van verlede jaar se SA Skolesterre in hul geledere, wat mense verder laat dink het twee swaeltjies kan die somer maak. Ben Vorster het die eerste punte aangeteken. Twee drieë is vroeg-vroeg al deur Stefan Engelbrecht en Jannie Jordaan gedruk en albei is deur Jonathan Viljoen verdoel, om die Vossies met 14-0 te laat lei. Jeppe het egter terug geveg en kort voor halftyd ook twee agter die doellyn te gaan kuier.
Player-baan by Sun City beleef. Volgens die seuns het die baan sy reputasie gestand gedoen en was dit ‘n ongelooflike ervaring. Die Plasiespan het algeheel vierde in die toernooi geeïndig. Die volgende swemmers het eindrondes gehaal en medaljes verower, wat beteken dat hulle onder die tien beste swemmers in hul ouderdomme in die Noordelike Streek van SA is: Erno Botha (400 m vryslag en 100 m rugslag), Wernich

Stanford Lake College’s netball girls travelled to Eric Louw to play their first netball league matches of the season. The day was extremely successful and they walked away with 100% victory. The u.14’s ended with a good score of 13-6, indicating much improvement and exciting times ahead. The u.15’s continued their winning streak and produced a phenomenal score of 30-3. The first team once again played some great netball and sealed the deal with a final score of 42-9.

Daniel Smit, ‘n leerling van die Laerskool Tzaneen en lid van die Shamu Swemklub in Tzaneen, het aan die Vlak 3-swemkampioenskappe in Port Elizabeth deelgeneem. Hy het heel goed gepresteer en op verskeie van sy beste tye verbeter.
Juan Meintjes of Tzaneen Primary School participated in the boys u.11 category in the biathlon championships. He achieved an overall 28th place out of 67 athletes. He ran the 800 m race in 2:58,68 and in the 50 m freestyle he swam a personal best time of 34.98 seconds.

The SLC boys hockey teams played against Merensky High School. Stanford’s u.16 boys played Merensky’s u.15 team in a friendly and won 1-0. The 2nds went down 1-0 to Merensky’s 2nd team. The first team played in a hard fought and high intensity match, with both sides missing opportunities to score. Stanford went into half time with a one goal advantage from a Justyn Trueman strike. The second half was not the greatest display of hockey with both sides unable to hold onto the ball. Stanford managed to hold on to a 1-0 win. Die span het afgeskop teen die Hoërskool Sasolburg (wat die toernooi gewen het) en 0-2 verloor. ‘n Suksesvolle tweede dag het gesorg vir wenwedstryde teen die Hoërskool Louis Trichardt (4-1) en die Hoërskool Secunda se o.16-span (3-0). Op dag drie het die seuns met pragspel teen Lydenburg 4-1 gewen, maar later die dag 4-1 teen St. Dominics College van Welkom verloor. Uiteindelik het die Plasies teen die Hoërskool Lydenburg se o.16span ‘n 2-0 wentelling aangeteken en derde in die toernooi geëindig. Die span is ook trots op Augustine Chiloane, wat vir die o.18 TUKS “All Star”-span gekies is.
Twee van die Laerskool Tzaneen se onderwyseresse het gedurende die vakansie aan die Two Oceans-halfmarathon deelgeneem. Me Andri Prinsloo (links) het die wedloop in ‘n tyd van 1:55,58 afgelê, en me Carina Boshoff in ‘n tyd van 2.49,44.

The Larries are very proud of the following u.12 and u.13 netball girls that participated in the Cluster Trials. They were selected to participate in the Mopani trials on Monday. The u.13 girls (ABOVE) are Salomé Lombard, Anja Maree, Lizané van Schalkwyk, Rachel de Jager, Bianca Oberholzer, Elsjé Kriel, Charlize Krause and Rhodé Faber. The u.12 girls (LEFT ABOVE) are Dedeya Shipalana, Janke Joubert, Elzet Toerien, Joalize Smit and Mikyla Coetzer. In die netbaleindstryde van die Super 12-kompetisie by Tuks het die o.11-meisies van die Laerskool Tzaneen albei hul wedstryde gewen: teen Fontainebleau met 5-3 en teen Elarduspark 6-5. Agter is Daniéle Bornman, Michelle Durrheim, Danielle Naudé en Moné Venter. In die middelry is Tashné Opperman, Marandi Rossouw en Dineo Letsoalo, en voor is Lané Kasselman. Die o.13-meisies het ook goed gevaar en vierde in hul ouderdomsgroep geëindig.
Jack Stewart, a Gr 5 pupil at Unicorn Preparatory School, won a bronze medal in the u.11’s at the recent SA Biathlon Championships in Bloemfontein.

So maak ons inderhaas planne om Saterdag rustig deur te ry Ellispark toe, maar met die toegewing aan GG dat ons betyds daar sal wees sodat hy op die grootskerm in die biertuin kan kyk hoe die Bulle speel. The Tzaneen Country Club held their 2016 Club Championships recently, and no less than 43 players braved the possibility of heavy rains! The committee members made a good call to continue with the tournament and as it turned out the rain stayed away for the most of the weekend. The A-division winner and 2016 Club Champion, playing his first club champs at Tzaneen Country club was Marnus Nel with rounds of 75 & 70. The Ladies Club Champion was Willemien Roettgers who
defended her title from 2015. In the B-Division the winner was Hendry Schoonraad and in the C-Division winner after a strong challenge on the final day was Marcelle Schipper. He won by a point with scores of 39 & 23 (that’s right 23 points!). The Committee would like to congratulate all the winners and all the players who took part. If you haven’t already entered, please look into joining TCC for the 40th Koraalboom tournament from 28 April to 1 May. Entries can be done with Anita or HJ at the TCC Offices.

Met sy huiswerk gedoen, soos gewoonlik, verduidelik ou AI dat Jeppe twee van verlede jaar se SA skolespelers in hul geledere het en dat hulle volgens een gerekende webblad tans vierde op die ranglys van skolespanne is. “De red skoel ies ap for y mammoth taask, bat iet ies y biegh ônner, wie kaant mis iet!” Waarmee ons toe natuurlik volmondig saamstem, en so sit ons vier Saterdag af Ellispark toe. Ou GG was teen daai tyd so ingenome met die idee dat hy selfs die grootskerm in die biertuin opgegee het. Maar hoe nader ons aan Ellispark kom, hoe meer vertel ou AI ons dat die rooiskool eintlik nie ‘n kans het nie, maar dat ons darem net die okkasie moet geniet.
Girvacques de Jager, ‘n oud-leerling van die Hoërskool Ben Vorster, is weer (vir 2016) ‘n beurs by die SSE-krieketklub in Pretoria aangebied. Hy is ook ‘n tweejaarkontrak aangebied, om as oorsese amateur speler vir 2016/2017 in Engeland vir die Uppermill Cricket Club Leafields te speel. Hy het Dinsdag soontoe vertrek.
Watwou! Oubal het hoendervleis gekry toe hy sien hoe ons plaaslike kinders in daai kolosseum van ‘n stadium die vloer vee met die hoogaangeskrewe Jeppe, SA skolespelers of te not. Daai witkopflank van hulle het die arme Jaansbergers oneindige probleme besorg en Oubal was beïndruk met hoe hul losskakel die spel gedikteer het. Op stuk van sake was daar net een span op die veld, maar dit was nie foutloos nie. ‘Tja, Oubal het die rooiskool se heelagter bitter jammer gekry toe hy nie daai deurgeskopte bal onder beheer kon kry nie en vir Jeppe ‘n drie op ‘n skinkbord gegee het.
