Ted Blom, Energy Expert Coalition, said that the load shedding implemented by Eskom will continue for at least the next five years. He blamed this on the internal corruption within the power utility and the mismanagement by individuals placed in positions of power without the required skills to occupy those offices. “A lot of the Eskom debt is either overstated or fictitious to the extent of around 60%. I raised this issue with the Department of Public Enterprises who were shocked by my findings and have promised to look into the matter and verify my claims.” A political decision now needs to be made in order to solve the stand-off between Eskom and the Local Municipalities who are on the brink of insolvency due, in large part, to their Eskom debt. Blom reckons that if the Local Municipalities’ debt owed to Eskom is written off, the power utility will be sunk and vice versa. “In parliament I made mention of the alarming shift from the non-profit model to the profit model in 2001 which has been the root cause of the mess within Eskom. In 2006, Eskom rehired Blom with the sole purpose to investigate coal procurement and the roadmap to 2030. Three years later, Blom went public on massive corruption and irregularities in the energy domain, which led to his persistent call for a full Judicial Commission of enquiry. Last year, in 2017, Blom was invited to testify to the SA Parliament covering his results into Eskom and its Governance problems after numerous presentations to the National Energy Regulator of South Africa (NERSA).
Despite the announcement earlier this year that a R90 million loan had been secured from the Development Bank, Tzaneen, Letsitele and surrounding areas still sit in darkness. Farmers have their hands in their hair as their crops fail and local businesses struggle to meet deadlines. The impact on the local agricultural industry is tremendous with farmers whispering of sanctions that might be imposed upon on the local exporters by the European unions. This week we again attempted to gain clarity on the situation and a progress report from the GTM regarding their upgrading of the electrical grid and their plans to purchase new vehicles

We asked Neville Ndlala whether the first portion of the R90 million (which was to be granted in three instalments of R30 million each over the course of three years) had been received yet. We wanted to know how that money was spent. We received no answer from him as he was out of office, but we believe that R40 million was received two weeks ago and that these funds had already been invested into the purchase of new vehicles. We have not yet received confirmation of this. Our list included questions around the progress with the criminal case against the five

No answer. We are under the impression that the age old boycott of information to this newspaper by the GTM is once again in full swing as information seems to be purposefully withheld from our readers.

this country was built on the cheapest and most reliable electricity in the world and with the commercialization act, Eskom is now competing with their consumers for more money. They want profits and we want cheaper prices. The more they win, the higher the electricity price. The higher the electricity price, the more mines and smelters shutdown and unemployment increases. If Eskom reduced the per unit price to 40c/Kwh, 3 million new jobs will be created within 18 months, guaranteed.” Blom lashed out against the power utility in an interview over the national broadcaster, SABC, a day ago. As a solution to the crisis, he advised that Eskom needs to declare a state of semi-emergency with the exporters of coal and get hold of some better coal and stop the damage to the furnaces. After that, Eskom needs to then get down and down some proper maintenance and lastly sort out their bloated headcount of over 35 000 people. I won’t call them workers because that will be an insult to workers. These people haven’t got jobs, they are sitting there earning on average R800 000 or more per year.”

“We had some serious challenges” - Hloele Tzaneen’s water users are no closer to a clear answer regarding the raising of the dam wall project, than they were before the meeting held in the hall at the showgrounds on Tuesday. What has now become very clear is that money has literally been thrown in the water due to lack of adequate planning and the necessary skills by appointed contractors to get the job done successfully. The one constant however, is that regardless of the proposed starting dates for the actual construction of the raised wall, millions more of taxpayers’ money will be thrown at this project until it is eventually completed. Currently the only information stakeholders have to work with after Tuesday’s meeting is a ballpark figure (no specific dates or costs were afforded) of R122 million budgeted for this financial year and R209 million for the 2019/2020 year. Coupled with
what was at best an educated guess regarding the estimated date of commencement or completion, the agricultural sector is rightfully panicking. The longer the project takes to complete (it has been standing still since March this year), the more rain seasons are missed which will have dire consequences to the local agricultural fraternity. Currently the dam level is at a very worrisome 16% with the bottom 10% regarded as sludge. This is why currently, there are daily water restrictions accompanying the daily electricity restrictions (a fact that does not seem to bother the Greater Tzaneen Municipality who advertised a bid to lease land for the establishment of a carwash in this newspaper two weeks ago). The failure of this project was downplayed by Chief Engineer at the DID and current project manager for the raising of the wall, Thabo Hloele who stood in as Speaker for the Department. He explained that originally Lepelle Northern Water was given the directive to implement Tzaneen Dam up to the tender documentation stage where the DWS would take over and roll out construction implementation. “The transition from Lepelle to the Department had some serious

Land expropriation hits village granny It would appear as though the land restitution without compensation entitlement ideology has reached even the villages in the area. An 80-year old granny was evicted off her stand in the village of Segabeng in Thlabine and told to live in a shack under a bridge. The villagers expressed concern over this act and accused the leaders of their tribal authorities of mismanaging the acquisition of land for residential stands in the area. The matter left some members of the community and the tribal council divided over the unilateral decision taken by the headman, some of them had leaked the information to the media in the hope the problem could be averted before matters got out of hand.
It is said that though the disapproval was expressed to the headman, he decided to carry on with the decision. One villager explained that owner of the stand the granny was living on, had been incarcerated. Upon his release from prison, the headman had decided to forcibly remove the old woman despite the opposition from the rest of the committee. The reason for this was because the returned convict was his brother which is blatant nepotism. This just in middle of the 16 Days of Activism Against the Abuse of Women and Children and community members aligned to the ruling structures seem to be silent about the issue. The allocation of stands in areas where
there is no longer enough space, results in disputes such as these as people acting on behalf of the traditional authority tend to sell stands to more than one person. Attempts to contact the headman to hear his side of the story was not a success. It is not the first time that the traditional council was embroiled in disputes over land in the area. Just recently a decision to sell the only sports ground in the area had to be rescinded after community members opposed the decision which would have left them without recreational facilities. Segabeng village situated about 26 kilometres east of Tzaneen was established in 1982 after tribal disputes with the residents of Khujwa-
na. The area around the village is now filled to capacity with no space for extra stands to be sold. As a result, many people have relocated back to Khujwana. On the western side of the village there is an abandoned farm which was in past leased to farmers, but now lies barren. On Wednesday, Parliament debated the Expropriation of Land without Compensation Bill where it was adopted with 209 votes versus 91 of the opposition parties with no abstinence reported. Opposition parties had filed papers in court objecting to the signing of the Bill into law, claiming the written submissions were not considered when the committee adopted the Bill before it was sent to the National Assembly. — Jan Mafetsa
Security guards ran from Letaba gunmen Employees of the Letaba Hospital have appealed to the Department of Health to remove Mabotwane Security, a company guarding the premises, because their continued presence at the institution put their lives at stake. They also said the matter was raised with the MEC Phophi Ramathuba who promised to remove the company, but nothing has so far come of it. The workers were protesting in civilian clothes at the hospital grounds two weeks ago during the visits to the hospital by the national deployees of the ANC, Health Minister Aaron Motsoaledi and his counterpart in the Ministry of Safety, Bheki Cele. They Shouted “Mabotwane must go”. The ministers said that the security situation at this hospital and others, who fell prey to the
same crimes, will be investigated. This came up after three doctors were shot and robbed at the residences of the hospital after intruders entered the premises through the backside of the palisade fence. The apparent lack of support to the workers by the union leaders raised concerns with the community because members of the unions were also members of the staff, but they chose to flock with the leaders of the alliance during office hours. “We are tired of being lied to by the Department of Health because every time there is a disaster at the hospital they come running and make promises which are not fulfilled. Recently we had an incident in the hospital where a nurse was stabbed by her boyfriend with a knife. When Ramathuba visited the hospital she said she was concerned
about the security here and she would change the provider which she never did.” A Spokesperson for the workers who asked not to be named said “if they listened when we complained about the security company all those months ago, maybe the shootings would not had taken place. Now that the institution is under the guard of the police for the time being, that may sound right, but the question is, what will happen thereafter?” They claimed the employees of the security company do as they wish. Leaders of the unions at the institutions could not comment about the security situation at the hospital and instead referred all communications to the Provincial Office of the Department. Some employees told Bulletin that it is a con-
cern to them that the guards at the hospital are unarmed. “When they heard shots fired, they fled for their own safety as there were no guns to fight back with.” A source at the hospital said that the immediate response by the national offices of the various departments was all about damage control and aimed at minimizing litigation that might arise from the shooting of these doctors. They are likely to sue the State for liabilities. Following a question by the media during the conference at the hospital, Health MEC Dr Phophi Ramathuba said that the department has appointed 38 companies to guard about 43 hospitals and clinics in the province. She further said that the security is not enough. — Jan Mafetsa
Taxi driver ZERO, female passenger ONE Hawkers and shoppers in the Lenyenye’s CBD were shocked when several taxis belonging to the local taxi association had to return without people after passengers turned them back. This after a dispute between taxi drivers and potential passengers who refused to board the overloaded vehicles. The practice of taxi drivers overloading their vehicles is known on the streets as “filling the socks” which allows for taxi drivers to scoop money that cannot be accounted for after reach-
ing capacity in their vehicle. According to a witness who was in one of the taxis when the dispute arose, the taxi was full to capacity and some passengers requested that the driver head straight to town and not stop at the CBD to pick up more passengers. The driver is reported to have disagreed and which led to an argument between him and one female passenger. The driver demanded that the woman exit
from his taxi so she could use the others taxis which were leading to town. When she refused, the driver tried to push her out. In solidarity, the other passengers exited the vehicle too. When two other taxis arrived, they were forced to return and collect the owner of the taxis to address the passengers. The stalemate continued for some time until a group of community members intervened and returned the situation to normal. The woman said she was
going to report the matter to the taxi association. Regular users said it was unusual for passengers to have heated arguments with drivers. The incident occurred just two days after the taxis in the Tzaneen area increased their fares and in the middle of the 16 days of Activism Against Abuse of Women and Children. Attempts to contact the chairman of the taxi association were unsuccessful as his phone rang unanswered several times. -Jan Mafetsa

Granny’s Grumbles - The Intruder
During the war years in Rhodesia the farmers and people in outlying areas had a hard time, but the average people living in the suburbs of big cites did not really have too much of a problem, except that you never had a man around to do the dirty work. I can say this with certainty since I had spent the first few years of the war in Karoi, Sinoia and Chirundu so was well aware of happened there. When I moved back to my humble beginnings in a suburb of Harare I realised that things hadn’t much changed there. Even the Prime Minister only had one bodyguard and generally drove his own vehicle. Crime as such was negligible and certainly a rape or murder would have hit the headlines. Now as any ex Rhodesian wife who had a relative in the regular forces will tell you, Friday night was compulsory attendance for all regular soldiers at the so-called prayer meeting. I say “so-called” through gritted
teeth as the meeting started at five o’clock and you were lucky if you saw your husband before eleven o’clock and he would be three sheets to the wind. I actually wrote a letter to the newspaper complaining about this as it ruined any chance of a family weekend as hubby would be nursing a hangover on the Saturday and there would be “no speaks” on a Sunday. I suggested to the powers that be that the night be changed to the middle of the week – then the army could have them complete with their hangovers. “A Ministry of Defence spokesman (when asked to comment) said that this was a tradition dating back many years and the prayer meeting was only compulsory for one hour – unfortunately a small percentage of soldiers would take themselves off to other nightspots over which the army had no control” A small percentage??? Probably 90%. Anyway – I digress. It was a Friday night and as per normal I was in bed and sound asleep when my spouse arrived home. During the early hours of the morning I happened to turn over half asleep and noticed a figure in the bedroom doorway. Since my hubby was snoring away beside me it obviously wasn’t him so I dug my elbow into his ribs in an effort to wake him up. He didn’t even move so I let out a shriek and grabbed him round the neck. By the time my darling had roused himself to ask rather groggily what on earth was going on, the figure in the doorway had disappeared. After listening to my explanation he trotted around the house and on his return to the bedroom asked in a sceptical tone what on earth had made me think there had been anybody in the house. It was fairly obvious that he thought this was all a figment of my imagination, so I got out of bed and did my own trip through the house. I found the back veranda window wide open
and from there the intruder had obviously hopped through the bathroom window since all the paraphernalia that usually sat on the window-sill was in the washbasin. I lost no time on passing this on to my spouse who grunted and hauled himself out of bed with a look that indicated I was being a pain in the butt. However, he suddenly realised that the kist (which was situated about a metre from his side of the bed) and on which he always dumped his clothes after a night on the town was bare. No sign of his blazer, his trousers, his shirt or wallet in sight. To top everything his cigarettes had been taken…..that was a disaster….when a man with a hangover has a problem he needs a smoke!! This all transpired about 3.30 in the morning, so we waited until six and phoned the local police station. Within half an hour we had a detective and a finger-print lady at the house. After a quick chat about what had happened the fingerprint lady asked my husband to show her which windows were opened and I was asked by the detective if my husband was in the regular army. I confirmed that he was and his reply was “I assume he was at Friday night prayer meeting last night”. I was a bit shattered – how did he know? Evidently ours was the third house in that area that the intruder had robbed that night. Each robbery took place at the home of an Amy regular who was at prayer meeting. Evidently nobody had woken up at the other homes and quite a lot of stuff was taken. We were exceedingly lucky – the detective climbed over the fence that lead into the bush behind our house and found my husband’s wallet and keys which had obviously been dropped in the robber’s haste to get away. “Fortunate for you that your wife woke up” said the detective as he left. The answer was a deafening silence.

The Message Rev Ron Reiners Anglican Church Disappointment.
We all have been disappointed or disillusioned at some point in our lives. At the present I can rightfully say that many of us are extremely disappointed in the performance of those in authority in this land. Things seem to be getting worse every day and we can see very little improvement, if any, in the way things are being run. It is also other people that disappoint us, people who we have put our faith in, those whom we have told our deepest secrets to. Many share these secrets with others and so in the end everyone knows the intricate details of our lives. So who do we trust? Gossip mongers love to spread half-truths about anything and anyone and the result is that often we are seen to be something that we are not. Trust is not an easy thing to do and as the old adage goes trust in earned and not bought. Jesus, must have also been disappointed in His disciples especially when after being with Him for all that time, some of them denied even knowing Him when questioned by the Sanhedrin, remember He too was fully human. But He never denied them and loved them so much that for Him it was easy to forgive. We often disappoint Him in our actions and in our denial of knowing Him. Put into a difficult situations where we are asked to explain who He is, we often do not know how to express ourselves. This is a form of denial of who He is and what He means to us. If you truly believe you know in your heart that He will never disappoint you. He is always ready to receive us at any time or place. All we need to do is to accept His grace and we will receive His true love for us. Disappointment or disillusion will be a thing of the past. We are in the season of Advent, the time when we start to prepare ourselves to celebrate His birth. Remembering how His birth was predicted by the prophets of old and how this wondrous happening, but also remembering the reason God sent Him to earth. We need to be open to any change that might happen in the period before His second coming. I wonder how many of us will be truly ready if it happened tomorrow? It is never too late to commit yourself FULLY to Christ. If you are unsure if you have done this then start today. There are people out there only willing to assist you in your quest all you need to do is to ask them. Blessings

During the Christmas of 2010, the Colombian government covered jungle trees with lights. When FARC guerrillas (terrorists) walked by, the trees lit up and banners asking them to lay down their arms became visible. 331 guerrillas re-entered society and the campaign won an award for strategic marketing excellence.

First time author to launch his book
Arrows of the Universe is an 894 page labour of love. Author Patrick McGaffin (81) from the Magoebaskloof started his book on the 2nd of April 2002. Sixteen years later he is due to launch
his first book countrywide. The story is about a character called Justin Marshall who helps his daughter who’s partially disabled from a riding accident. He relocates from the city to a game farm in the Lowveld Bushveld. The idea for a book began while Patrick was with owners Gertie and Philip Kusseler at a horse back safari called “Wait a Little”, which is
part of an 8,000 hectare conservancy called Karongwe. Gertie described an incident that happened to her and a friend. They came around a bush to face two lions. Gertie’s friend’s horse bolted. Fortunately the friend didn’t fall off the horse. Gertie, being well drilled, knew it was not good practice to run from a lion. She dismounted and faced the lions. To her horror the lions started stalking her. She pulled out her little revolver, still holding the horse’s reins, back peddling slowly. She fired

into the ground but the lions kept coming for her. Patrick, listening to the story, could not stop thinking of Gertie with her beautiful blue eyes. There she was, alone in the bush, facing two killers. That sparked his desire to write this book. This first-time author mixes his tenses on purpose. His editors had such a problem with this but he stuck to his guns as it’s his style. Initially he wrote hundreds of pages in the past tense. Then he rewrote everything into the present tense. Ultimately the author simply felt comfortable missing his tenses. Patrick says “That’s why it’s taken me 16 years - writing, and rewriting some 20 times.” He added, “I’ve used six different freelance editors. I wrote 24 hours a day while my adult sons took care of the farm outside Haenertsburg.” When asked to describe the book, Patrick said, “It’s a love story. Justin Marshall discovers two things in the bush. One that deep down man is still an animal and secondly
he finds love. In finding that love he discovers that love’s companion is a knife.” With a twinkle in his eye, he says, “Readers be warned - there’s 27 pages of quantum physics. That explains the title. There are some 30 local characters in my book. ” The Minister of Finance, Tito Mboweni, has endorsed the book with a shout. The book is to be launched at the Pennefather in Haenertsburg on 15 December. This is pending the publication of the first 500 copies at Porcupine Press in Randburg. Then Patrick will go on a countrywide book launch from early February 2019 for two months. He will be accompanied by a Black Mamba from Balule Estate who will be sponsored by Isuzu. The Black Mambas are a highly effective, fearless and respected all woman anti-poaching unit. The Black Mamba will lecture on the fight to save the rhino and Patrick has chosen fairly small bookstores throughout South Africa for their presentations. His tour will end with a launch at the PNA in Tzaneen in April next year.

endorsements achieved, thereby ensuring access for students to exciting careers in accounting, finance, business and more. It is widely accepted that economic growth is contingent on developing and training a significant number of professionally qualified accountants. This supports a range of essential roles in the profession which strengthens the economy. These roles include accounting and external reporting, auditing and assurance, taxation, strategy, risk management and corporate governance, financial management as well as management decision making and control. And, with 80% of the credits
in our Bachelor of Accounting Degree focusing on these critical areas, the programme is well positioned to make a significant contribution to the South African economic landscape. Wolmarans highlights that “The fundamental building blocks of a successful career can be attained through this qualification.” For those of you that are ready to take the first step towards success, whether you are currently completing matric or already employed, this is an exciting opportunity that is worth considering. The Fasset (Finance and Accounting Services Sector Education and Train-
ing Authority) report on scarce and critical skills indicates that a career in finance and accounting provides a job applicant with a high supply of career opportunities. Trainee accountants, external auditors, general accountants, financial investment advisors, management consultants, and bookkeepers are currently sought-after in the finance, accounting and business sector. Hundreds of parents and guests who attended the graduation ceremony at Ipelegeng Early Childhood Development (ECD) Centre at Rasebalane Village were told that the success of the child starts at the early stages of their academic development. The event which was sponsored by the community investment club, Premier Men, also heralded the closure of pre-schools ahead of the festive season. The event also coincided with the honouring of community members from
the area for their academic achievements and those playing a role in the development of their communities. Addressing the crowds, the publicity head of the Premier Men Club, Media officer, Caxton Mametja, appealed to parents to assist the teachers by moulding the children at home. “Judging by the performances of the children on stage here one can see that Ipelegeng crèche had done their foundation job well. The children will proceed to primary schools
where teachers would put the slab before building the wall. Parents should assist teachers by attending school meetings and to visit schools when summoned by the headmasters of the schools.” Concluding, Mametja said children should be taught from a very young age to do well at school and take education seriously because in the Mopani District, education is for the survival of the fittest. -Jan Mafetsa

Bumper weekend for Christmas Market
Trinkets were available on the front lawn as well with some funny Afrikaans expressions on display.
Haenertsburg was full of Christmas cheer with the Christmas Market at the Village Hall this past weekend. Stall holders came from all over the country to sell their wares. Complimentary cherries were given at the door to put everyone in the mood. On the other side was glühwein. For R30 customers were served got a full glass of glühwein and got to keep the tulip-shaped glass. Christmas stockings, Christmas wreaths and mince pies set the tone amongst the other goodies on sale. A henna tattooist plus a permanent tattooist were also there. Organic henna was used. Once painted on Claudia Norton sprayed the artwork with a mixture of lemon juice and water. This all flaked off overnight leaving only a faint tattoo. However it darkened into a beautiful henna tattoo within some 60 hours to stay on for another nine days. Well worth the R50.
Claudia Norton from Benoni doing organic henna motifs on young Ryder. Alongside her is husband Carl who did the permanent tattoos.

SLC Headmaster bids goodbye As the hourglass runs down on my tenure as Headmaster of Stanford Lake College I am moved to reflect on the time we, as a family, have been privileged to be part of this remarkable school and the community on this special ‘mountain’. It feels like only yesterday that we arrived here from the United Kingdom to start our new adventure as a family. This adventure has seen us grow in so many ways, including in the size of our family with the birth of our third child, Annabel, who will always be our ‘mountain’ baby. Just like our stunning Magoebaskloof, Stanford Lake College remains a unique and special place, built on the firm foundations of community and character, offering its pupils a holistic education second to none. I have been privileged to teach in the United Kingdom and South Africa, in both Private and Government schools and I strongly believe that Stanford Lake College stands amongst giants as one of the very best schools in South Africa. The all-round education that each child receives at Stanford is not merely
an academic one, but rather a holistic education, which identifies three critical aspects of life-long learning; Knowledge, skills and character. A Stanford education focuses on each of these aspects of a child’s growth so that they may, at the end of their stay at school, move into the world beyond as confident, knowledgeable, empathetic, skilled global citizens. These key pillars of knowledge, character and skills are what drive what Stanford does, with each characteristic, thoughtfully and deliberately, designed and implemented to provide pupils with the necessary skill-set to thrive in today’s complex world. These aspects all fuse together to contribute to an education that each child and their parents can be truly proud of. It is, however, all about the people of our amazing community. I have been both honoured and humbled to have worked with such a diverse group of world-class teachers over the past seven years at the College. These extraordinary people are the driving force behind the all-around success of our school. I firmly hope
that those who have been part of the school, those who are part of it now and those who will be part of its future, truly appreciate and recognise how privileged we all are to have them guiding our school. I look forward to seeing the Redfern family moving up here when Alan takes over as the new Headmaster in the new year and hope that they too will experience the joy, love and community that we have experienced as a family in our time here. Stanford Lake College and the Magoebaskloof has become our second home and both the school and the community will always have a very special place in the Carolan family’s hearts. God Bless! Craig, Penny, Matt, Sam & Bella Stanford Lake College would like to wish Mr Carolan and his Family all the best on their new exciting venture and we look forward to welcoming Mr Alan Redfern to the Stanford Family. We know he will continue taking Stanford Lake College from strength to strength.

Mnr. Dirk Joubert, Feeskomitee-voorsitter sal die feesrede lewer. Die tyd is 09:00 vir 9:30 by Fonteinplaas (Ou NG Kerk Kampterrein). Bring u eie stoel saam.

Richmond hoist Game of Stars Cup Saturday afternoon saw the driving range at the Tzaneen Showgrounds transformed into two standard-sized soccer pitches to host the finals of the Game of Stars 2018 Tournament. This tournament was the brainchild of former Bafana Bafana soccer legend, Mark Fish through his foundation in conjunction with local farmers association Agri Limpopo. The aim of the tournament was to garner the support of the local farming community through the establishment of soccer teams comprised of farmworkers on the various farms. These teams would then represent their farm in a tournament which lead up to the finals this past weekend. The secondary objective of this initiative was to provide a pool of fresh talent for national and league team selection. According to Fish, who was present at almost every match played during the tournament, as well as at the finals on Saturday, the talent on the farms in the Limpopo Province is astounding. “The guys are physically strong and fit and play a quick, aggressive game which makes for good selection material,” he said. “I was very impressed by the level of skill I have witnessed and I am sure that in the future you will see some national players come from this tournament. I feel very confident that these guys have benefitted as much from the Game of Stars Initiative as the game of soccer will.” The tournament is played with the FastFooty© format which is an 11 vs 11 T20 style football aimed at speeding up the game, getting players to think and communicate strategically and encourages players to score from outside the 18 yds area (counts as two goals). It includes a PowerPlay where the oppo-
sition must send three players off the field for 6 minutes. The coaches reported that since they started playing this format their team’s performance in their communities showed marked improvement. A total of 10 teams battled it out to determine the winner for the 2018 tournament. A whopping 36 goals were scored to the delight of the spectators. Ultimately there can only be one winner and Richmond Kopano Farming (part of the Komati Group) from Hoedspruit walked away with the honours. Richmond faced off against Mahela Group in the Top 10 Playoff round and after beating them convincingly by 4 goals to 1, they were through to the quarter finals where they met De Wagendrift. It was a close match which saw Richmond clinch the win in the dying moments of the second half by 2-1. Westfalia United waited for the chance to tackle Richmond in the semi’s but were not up to the challenge and conceded the match by 1 goal to Richmond’s 5. The final match pitted Richmond against a tough Maroi Boerdery team who made sure that the Black and Gold Machine worked for the single goal that saw them raise the cup. The match ended in favour of the Hoedspruitians with a score of 1-0. Kenneth Mafogo of the Richmond team was named the Goalkeeper of the Tournament with Maroi Boerdery’s Alick Phiri taken the Best Defender Award
home. Stanley Kwinika also added to the Maroi silverware haul with his award for Best Midfielder while Richmond’s deadly striker, Orphan Mahlako was named the Overall Best Player and Top Goal Scorer of the Tournament. — Joe Dreyer

Vossie Visman breek agt rekords
