The chilly months of winter are a great time to reflect on our lives, our community, and our habits. Between family, holiday celebrations and the end of a year, life always seems busier in the still of winter. Making the space in your schedule for leisure and recreation may seem impossible, but with the many classes, leagues, and training opportunities listed in the pages of this brochure, it’s never been easier. Keep growing with Rec this winter/spring; try a new class, a new workout buddy or commit to building healthy habits over the holidays. Find your way to Connect with Rec –whether it is in a mindful moment of silence in a yoga class, a burst of energy mid-set, or the smile on your child’s face as they make their first basket in Tiny Tyke Basketball. Seven days a week, snow, rain, or shine, we’re here to help Lafayette live healthy all year long. Mission Statement: To provide healthy opportunities with quality and value to engage the greater Lafayette community.
Get Active. Live Healthy!

Lafayette Explorers Preschool For young children, meaningful and long lasting learning requires active thinking and experimenting to find out how things work. This is best accomplished through purposeful play facilitated by highly intentional teaching practices. THE GOALS OF OUR CURRICULUM

Day: Wednesdays Time: 11AM-1PM Location: Lafayette Library, 775 W. Baseline Road
The most important goal of our early childhood curriculum is to help children become enthusiastic learners and form friendships. This means encouraging children to be active and creative explorers who are not afraid to try out their ideas and to think their own thoughts. We strive to help children become independent, self-confident, inquisitive learners. We’re teaching them how to learn, not just in preschool, but also all through their lives. The activities we plan for children, the way we organize the environment, select toys and materials, plan the daily schedule, and talk with children, are all designed to accomplish the goals of our curriculum and give the children a successful start in school.

Tai Chi Tai Chi is exercise that is easy and gentle. It's exercise that is great for newbies, older people, and people who don't like to sweat too much. Tai chi develops body awareness that can help seniors to keep their balance. It can also keep seniors healthy and mobile so that they can maintain their independence and lead full lives. Last but not least, tai chi is a great tool to help with the "sageing" process, a time in life when self-reflection and experience can lead to growing in wisdom and love. Code
