Youth Programs
preschool Lafayette Explorers Preschool For young children, meaningful and long lasting learning requires active thinking and experimenting to find out how things work. This is best accomplished through purposeful play facilitated by highly intentional teaching practices. THE GOALS OF OUR CURRICULUM The most important goal of our early childhood curriculum is to help children become enthusiastic learners and form friendships. This means encouraging children to be active and creative explorers who are not afraid to try out their ideas and to think their own thoughts. We strive to help children become independent, self-confident, inquisitive learners. We’re teaching them how to learn, not just in preschool, but also all through their lives.

byers-evans house museum Built for William N. Byers in 1883, the stately Italianatestyle home reflected the Rocky Mountain News founder’s standing in the community. William G. Evans, the oldest son of former governor John Evans, bought the home in 1889. An important business and civic leader in his own right, William headed the Denver Tramway Company and helped develop the 62 mile Moffat Tunnel which linked Denver to Colorado’s western slope and solidified the city’s place as the region’s commercial hub. Anne Evans, William's younger sister, lived at 1310 Bannock Street after her father's death in 1897. Anne was a leader in the development of the arts and cultural organizations of Denver and the surrounding area.
