LA FÊTE DÉ
NOUÉ ST HELIER CHRISTMAS GUIDE IN PARTNERSHIP WITH GOVERNMENT OF JERSEY
19 T H NOV E M B E R - 31 S T D E C E M B E R 2020
WELCOME TO LA FÊTE DÉ NOUÉ
It’s been a difficult year for all of us, but the team at the Parish of St Helier is doing its utmost, working with our partners in Government and in the hospitality and retail sectors, to make sure that you can enjoy a capital Christmas experience in St Helier. The season of giving has never been more important to our town traders, small and large, who offer an amazing variety and range of shopping and dining opportunities, while the atmosphere in St Helier during Fête dé Noué is definitely worth coming into town to enjoy. Yes, some things – including this year’s Christmas Lights switch on – can be done online, and many shops and restaurants are exploiting the internet to promote their goods and services, but you are warmly encouraged to come into St Helier during the festive period to experience the Fête dé Noué firsthand. The Christmas shop windows are twinkling under the canopy of lights, the shops are opening late, Genuine Jersey producers are offering crafted surprises and foodie delights, and new for 2020 is our Christmas Tree Trail which is waiting for your children and grandchildren to explore. We wish you and your family a very happy Fête dé Noué. The Constable and Mrs Crowcroft.

Dear boys & girls, It’s a long way from Jersey to Lapland, so the elves at Jersey Post have created a North Pole Express Service. Simply write me a letter, pop it in Santa’s post box in de Gruchy’s, and it’ll be here faster than you can say Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer! Anyway, must dash, lots to do before Christmas. Write soon!

My Family and Other Animals 2nd - 22nd December Jersey Arts Centre £10.00 - £18.00
Set sail to the Ionian island of Corfu this Christmas, as the Jersey Arts Centre presents Gerald Durrell’s ‘My Family and Other Animals’! Join Gerry and the eccentric Durrells in this charming, whimsical story of one family’s sojourn to an idyllic Greek isle in 1935. Fascinated by the Island’s flora and fauna, young Gerry finds inspiration in insects, amphibians, reptiles, birds and the larger-than-life characters that the family meet during their escapades. Adapted and directed for the stage by Daniel Austin, ‘My Family and Other Animals’ was first performed in Jersey in 2007, and went on to travel to Guernsey, Sark and Corfu. Bring some sunshine to your December with a production that’s full of joy, humour and passion for the natural world – a wild adventure for all the family! By arrangement with the Estate of Gerald Durrell. When booking online, if you can’t see the correct combination of seats that you require, please telephone the Box Office on 700444. Please only book for, and sit with, people in your household groups. www.artscentre.je 01534 700 444
