Día de las Madres

Revisando la historia del día de la madre, los datos se remontan a la antigua Grecia donde se le hacía homenaje a la madre de Zeus y otros dioses. Cuando aparece el cristianismo, comienzan a homenajear a la madre de Jesús, la virgen Maria. Pero más recientemente la activista Ann Jarvis siguiendo los pasos de Julia Ward comienza a reunirse con otras madres para armar una red de apoyo e intercambio de opiniones de la realidad del momento.

El 12 de mayo de 1905 Ann fallece y su hija organiza un homenaje el segundo domingo del mes de mayo para enaltecer su ardua labor y el de todas las madres.

En 1914 después de realizar una extensa campaña por Estados Unidos para que se estableciera el segundo domingo del mes de mayo como el día de la madre, el presidente Woodrow Wilson reconoció oficialmente este día que se mantiene hasta la fecha.

Las madres son incondicionales, y nosotros somos lo que somos gracias a ellas, a su lucha constante, su dedicación, entrega y amor infinito.

Todos los días les podemos dar gracias con nuestros actos, siendo siempre personas de bien, dando ejemplo en nuestros hogares y sociedad.

El trabajo de ser mamá es el más importante de la vida, y le llamo trabajo como una manera de referencia del tiempo y esfuerzo que requiere, con la diferencia que es un trabajo 24/7 -nunca se descansa-. Pero es el trabajo más hermoso del mundo, ver a sus hijos crecer, dedicarles calidad de tiempo, es el mejor tiempo invertido. A veces el rol de mamá lo ejercen algunos padres lo cual hay que enaltecer pues es un doble rol, mayor dedicación.

Reviewing the history of Mother's Day, proof goes back to ancient Greece where homage was paid to the mother of Zeus and other gods. When Christianity appeared, they began to honor the mother of Jesus, the Virgin Mary. But more recently, the activist Ann Jarvis, following in the footsteps of Julia Ward, begins to meet with other mothers to build a network of support and exchange of opinions on the reality of the present moment.

On May 12, 1905, Ann died and her daughter organized a tribute on the second Sunday of May to honor her hard work and that of all mothers. In 1914, after conducting an extensive campaign in the United States to establish the second Sunday of May as Mother's Day, President Woodrow Wilson officially recognized this day, which has continued to this day.

Mothers are unconditional lovers and supporters, and we are what we are thanks to them, their constant struggle, their dedication, and infinite love. Every day we can thank them with our actions, always being good people, setting an example in our homes and society.

The job of being a mother is the most important in life, and I call it work as a way of referencing the time and effort it requires, with the difference that it is a 24/7 job -you never rest-. But it is the most beautiful job in the world, watching your children grow up, dedicating quality time to them, is the best time invested. Sometimes the role of mother is done by a single father, which must be praised because it is a double role, greater dedication.
