KAREN REILLY

Rancho Bernardo Library’s new branch manager, Karen Reilly, said she joined the profession because of the variety it offers plus her lifelong love of libraries. She also finds it much more enjoyable and pleasant than her prior career as a lawyer. “I didn’t really enjoy (employment law) and it didn’t suit me,” Reilly said.

Kersey announced his council bid last June after City Councilman Carl DeMaio — who also lives in Rancho Bernardo — announced that instead of seeking a second council term he would run for mayor. DeMaio is among four front runners in the mayoral race. The others are District Attorney Bonnie Dumanis, Rep. Bob Filner and Assemblyman Nathan Fletcher.
