BY ELIZABETH MARIE HIMCHAK On Saturday morning, skip cooking breakfast and instead head over to Rancho Bernardo High where pancakes and more will be waiting. The campus’ 26th annual pancake breakfast and craft fair is set for 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 24 in the campus’ covered lunch area at 13010 Paseo Lucido. Tickets are $5 per person. Each includes Saturday’s breakfast plus a coupon for a free hand spun shake at the new Grub Burger Bar in Carmel Mountain Ranch. The shake is normally sold for $4.95. Breakfast tickets will be sold at the event and in advance by members of various campus groups, including AVID, ASB, band, Best Buddies, choir, cross country, dance, drama, Fight Against Hunger Club, football, Friends of the RB High Library, Girls Hockey, International Club, RBHS Foundation, orchestra and wrestling. When the groups’ members sell the tickets, the groups keep $4 of every $5 ticket. Proceeds from tickets sold at the event will go to the school’s foundation, which supports various campus endeavors. A family pack of tickets for two adults and three children is available Saturday afternoon for $38. Preferred, VIP and box seats are also available for an extra cost. Children 5 and under are free in general admission.
