UPASS

Our Universal Bus Pass (U-Pass) offers unlimited use of public transit to Lakehead students in both Thunder Bay and Orillia. With our collective purchasing power we are able to secure the lowest transit rates possible by negotiating directly with the local city transit departments. LUSU is run for students, by students. Become part of the team that ensures students can pursue academic excellence as well as personal and social growth at Lakehead, free from barriers. You can also get involved in one of the LUSU Centres, such as the Aboriginal Awareness Centre, Gender Equity Centre, Multicultural Centre, Pride Central, or the Food Resource Centre. Opportunities to represent the student body on the University’s academic governance body, the Senate, and various Senate committees are also great ways to share the student voice and be involved.

STUDENT CLUBS, ACADEMIC ASSOCIATIONS AND SOCIETIES

Clubs are the cornerstone of student life at Lakehead. Whether you are interested in sports, movies, video games, politics, or academics, a club exists to fill your need to broaden your ways of thinking and living life. See our website for a list of clubs, academic associations and societies to join. If you can’t find one you like

you can start your own!

You can track your extracurricular and showcase the skills you have learned through the CoCurricular Record (CCR). The CCR is an ideal way to complement your academic transcript when applying for jobs or to a graduate or professional program.

Escape from your studies and enjoy the ultimate outdoor experience right at our campus doorstep.

Both Thunder Bay and Orillia offer close access to some of Ontario’s greatest downhill ski resorts and cross-country skiing facilities.
