The hub of student activities, the Luther Student Center is where you register, where you hang out as a student and where you visit as a graduate to receive job search assistance or join the Alumni Association. The Foundation is also in this building and is awaiting your scholarship application. Each year about 400 outstanding students receive scholarships. Applications are available online.

The Student Life office is the host of all student organizations and clubs on campus. Through this office you can run for the Student Government Association, plan free weekly entertainment events, write for the student newspaper or join one of the many clubs on campus. The Student Life office is a great place to hang out and find out how you can become more involved on campus. From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. each week, the Student Activity Board schedules events such as comedians, musicians, hypnotists, scavenger hunts, the Spring Carnival, tiedye t-shirts and much more. There’s usually free stuff or food at the events and it’s a great way to get to know others on campus.

From diagnostics to sparks flying, VoTech is where technology meets hands-on skills. VoTech offers everything you need to know to become a professional auto mechanic as well as welding and machinist. The Welding Lab was recently renovated with new equipment to provide marketable training. The Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certified Automotive Program uses the latest diagnostic computer equipment as well as the traditional tools found in all shops. In addition, the building is home to the Auto Club’s winning 1993 Pontiac Firebird Dragster.

How do you transfer your dual credit classes from your high school to a college or university?
A
LLC Dual Credit classes will appear as regular classes on your LLC academic transcript. When you’re ready to transfer, you can request that an official transcript be sent to the institution of your choice.
The art of nursing and science meets the skill of creativity within the walls of Neal Hall. From a nursing lab including a patient simulator to an art room spilling with sunlight to a green house full of classroom projects, Neal Hall houses a range of humanities, science and allied health classes. Students enrolled in Speech, English, Music, Botany, Math for Meds, GIS, Earth Science and Advanced Medical Terminology take classes here.

How will I know if my classes will transfer to another college?
A
Courses that are numbered 100 or higher are transferable courses. Some lower level courses also may transfer when we have an Articulation Agreement with the four year school.
Whether dissecting the Pythagorean Theorem or solving a debate on human cloning, Northeast classrooms are filled with successful learning, challenging theories, learning epiphanies and aha moments every day. Minds are challenged with theories, skeletal structures and equations. Many bachelor’s degrees begin in this building with a multitude of math, science, social science and education courses offered. Classes found in this building include Human Anatomy, Beginning Algebra, Bio-Science, Statistics and American National Government.

Stretch your brain while testing your knowledge in the Field House. Sure you can get an awesome workout in the Fitness Center and a have a blast at a basketball game, but did you also know you can participate in intramural sports or attend a variety of classes in the Field House? In addition to the Laker gym, the Field house hosts Education, Human Services, Aerobics and Strategies for Success courses. You can catch a game of volleyball or women’s or men’s basketball in the gym. Softball and baseball games are on the nearby fields. Students get free admission to all games at LLC! A lot of FREE, fun Student Activity Board events are held here as well!

How many people go to Lake Land College?
A
The college serves more than 8,200 students a year, however on campus the typical population is about 4,000.
From surveying to haircuts to growing a sustainable living laboratory, the West Building is cultivating energy, style and agriculturists. In this building, technology students are learning the technological skills needed to service our wind turbines and other sustainable initiatives, while agriculture students are learning how to produce cost-saving energy on their farms. At the opposite end of the building, students in the cosmetology, esthetics and nail tech programs are providing real-life services to clients and gaining valuable skills. The Lightning Bug (our all electric car refurbished and converted by students) is usually in the atrium. Curl up with a computer, snack while you study or rehearse a presentation in the Virgil H. Judge Learning Resource Center – commonly known as the Library. The building houses traditional resources, several computer labs and a new vending/snack area called the Second Story. The second floor also includes rooms that can be reserved for group projects, private studying or presentation practice. On the lower level you’ll find the Center for Technology and Professional Development, the go-to office for your online classes and test proctoring.
