HELP DESK 1. You may search and apply for jobs using the Lakeland College Careers portal. 2. This brief manual guides you how-to use the portal. PORTAL HOMEPAGE You choose what you want to do from the portal homepage.

Landing page categories

Current Job Opportunities: List of current active postings My Job Notifications: Where you will receive application status updates, confirmation of interviews and possible job offers. Emails are sent when notifications are updated. My Job Applications: Shows the jobs you’ve applied for My Favourite Jobs: List of any jobs you’ve indicated as a favourite. Each job posting will have an add to favourite jobs (see below).

My Saved Searches: Where you can set email job notifications based on a keyword My Account Information: Where you can update your email, address or password

BROWSING CURRENT JOB POSTINGS You’ll arrive on the portal when you click on Current Career Opportunities tile on the Lakeland College website.

Click Current Job Opportunities from the drop down menu to see the list of current job postings. 2 1 3

1. On the left hand side, you can toggle to filter results by location. (If there are no jobs for a location, it won’t show up in the left hand menu.) 2. There is a Search Jobs field where you can enter a keyword of a position title to find it. Scroll down to see all currently posted jobs. 3. For more information on a job posting, click the job or the arrow to the right.

CREATING A USER ACCOUNT TO APPLY FOR A JOB POSTING To apply for a job, you’ll have to create a user account for the portal. After you set up an account, you login. You may want to bookmark the page. On the portal page start by either: 1. Go to the menu icon on the top right, click on New User. 2. Click on apply for job in the posting and you’ll be directed to either set-up or log into your account.

2. Fill in the form with your password, name and contact information. 3. Accept the terms & conditions by clicking the check box. 4. Click the green Register button to complete account set up.

Use this account to check the status of applications. Apply for other positions. Manage your user information. Receive and accept employment offer letters.

APPLY FOR A JOB Find the job you would like to apply for and click the green Apply for Job button at the top right.

Once you select the job, there is a five-step application process. Step 1: View Terms & Conditions at the bottom. Check the box and click next button in the top right corner.

Step 2: Upload your resume and cover letter. You may use either Word documents (.doc) or PDF (.pdf) files. Click next button.

Step 3: Upload your references, certificates or other information. Click next button. Attachments also need to be in .doc or .pdf formats.

Step 4: Answer our questionnaire. One answer per question. Click the next button.

Step 5: Answer the questions about how you heard about the job opportunity.
