Personal Information shall be collected directly from the individuals, unless otherwise authorized under the FOIP Act, such as where the individual has expressly authorized another method of collection or where an individual is providing emergency contact information
8. Certain information such as emergency contact information, performance appraisals, attendance records and disciplinary information is generally accessible to supervisors where a “need to know” basis has been established.
9. For the exception of the limited exceptions under the FOIP Act, Employee Personal Information will not be disclosed to a third party without informed written consent.
10. Under the authority of the Director of Human Resources, certain employee information, may be shared within the college where necessary for administering or managing Lakeland College staff.
11. The college is required to provide information to the federal and provincial Governments for purposes such as taxation and statistics. Statistical data, in which individuals are not identifiable, may be provided in response to other external requests.
12. The college provides personal information for the administration of the employees’ benefits programs to the trustee of the pension plans and to the insurance company which administers the benefits programs.
