Mountaintop Lodge Restoration Underway The Club continues its efforts to restore the Mountaintop Lodge to the level that our Platinum Club deserves. Being closed and completely shut down for almost three years has resulted in the formation of mold and deterioration of the plumbing systems that will cause a delay in our planned opening. The key to mold control is moisture control. Mold is present in every building, as well as outdoors. But without moisture, mold cannot grow to harmful levels. Fortunately the Club stepped in just in time and was able to limit the damage to surface mold. Once Northeastern Environmental Services of the Poconos eliminated the source of moisture in the basement, they immediately remediated the surface mold that blanketed the first floor of the Lodge. There has also been some vandalism, which, together with neglect, required us to repair significant parts of the plumbing system and the resulting damage to some floors and walls. While the Club is hoping to open earlier, the Mountaintop Lodge will definitely be ready by early May for housing the Seasonal Team Members, and the four executive cottages will be available for Club Members to house their overnight guests and for the Real Estate Agencies to house potential property owners. Member and non-member guests will be able to use the Lodge after Labor Day. After the start of the new year, the Club will begin booking private weddings and special events at the Mountaintop Lodge. Members who have held events at the Lodge prior to its closing still rave about that location as a venue for these special moments. We ask for your patience while we complete the above work and complete it in a way that represents the Lake Naomi Club. We are hoping by the Spring that we will all be able to enjoy this latest amenity. Kindly remember that while the Lodge is being rehabilitated, the Club respectfully requests that Members refrain from going there. This is an active construction site with all of the inherent risks. Stay tuned for further updates.
Lodge Task Force Established The Board of Trustees, in concert with the Board of Governors, has created a task force to guide the restoration and reopening of the Mountaintop Lodge. Retiring Trustee, Steve Harker, has agreed to be the Chair. The Lodge Task Force will help in making sure this new Club venture gets off to a proper start and that the Lodge integrates well with the rest of our Club culture. The Task Force will address: assuring the Lodge meets LN-TT platinum standards and expectations; event planning; establishing a marketing strategy; determining membership options for guests; partnering with the Real Estate Community; financial analysis and accountability, and other concerns. The Task Force will report to the membership, Board of Governors and Board of Trustees on a regular basis. Questions regarding the Task Force can be directed to General Manager Robert Jones via email (rjones@lakenaomiclub.com) or telephone (570 6469191, extension 112).
