Members say Yes

Club Members overwhelmingly voted in favor of the Club’s acquisition of a key property adjacent to Lake Naomi. The Club received 78% of the ballots sent and 94% voted in favor of purchasing the property (2305 votes in favor and 153 not in favor). The Membership has recommended many good ideas for the property. Now the Membership, Committees, Boards and Management can plan what would best benefit the Club at this location. This past week the property has been cleaned up making the corner more attractive. There is no time pressure to make any major changes; the Club will have the opportunity for due diligence to determine what will best meet the needs of the growing Membership. Currently the Board of Trustees, in concert with the Board of Governors, are assembling a task force that will consider all the proposals and report to Membership, Board of Governors and Board of Trustees. If you have an idea you would like the task force to consider you can email it to admin@lakenaomiclub.com or drop it off at the Administrative Office. Thanks again for participating in this important vote. It is very reassuring when 78% of the Membership take the time to make their voices heard. With the support of the Members, the Club has made major strides during the last four years in securing its boarders by purchasing the Mountaintop Lodge Property, the Park at Club Beach Property and most recently the corner commercial property at Routes 940 and 423.

Lake Draw Down On Tuesday, October 15th the Club will begin the 2013 draw down of Lake Naomi. This process takes place every 5-10 years in order to address both Club and Member maintenance concerns. The Club will be focusing on projects pertaining to the spillway, the dry fire hydrants, many shoreline repairs, marina improvements, permanent lake markers etc. Please be aware of the following: -Because the lake is very shallow marinas will dry up quickly. Lake access will be very limited during this time for this reason. -Most marinas will be occupied by maintenance working on time sensitive projects. Please stay clear of this work and projects in progress. -Water near the dam will be moving quickly and have a strong current over the spillway. Please use caution. If you have any questions please contact Scott Hall at shall@lakenaomiclub.com.
