All the Members who attended the Annual Membership Meeting were shown the first renderings of the potential expansion of the Community Center as outlined in Phase Two of the Horizon Plan. BOG Chair Mark Ierardi explained that the Committees and Boards are “sharpening their pencils” in determining how best to accomplish the goals outlined in the plan and at the same time to make sure the Club “gets it right” prior to going to the Membership for a vote. One of the items under consideration is closing in the deck area outside the Community Center Pool and creating an indoor, zero entry, shallow pool area for our youngest Members that includes some fun water features. This will allow the handicap ramp to be free of children playing on it. Another new area would be created by enclosing the current pavilion for an expanded aerobics room and additional offices. A new pavilion has been added to the proposal to house the every growing Kid Camp Programs. Additional square feet will be added to the fitness center and rearranging of the locker rooms and classrooms will help increase the much needed changing areas and restroom facilities. The Committees and Boards are also taking a look at Phase Three of the Horizon Plan to see what can be done and what it would cost to accomplish the upgrades to the Lake Naomi Tennis Center. Management is confident that it will not be too much longer until there is a final proposal to present to the Membership for their consideration. At that point we will conduct the Town Meetings so you can express your thoughts and suggestions prior to going to the Phase Two Vote.
