EVENT SPOTLIGHT Bagnell Dam Duck Drop

The Great Bagnell Dam Duck Drop will be held Saturday, Aug. 6 below Bagnell Dam. Thousands of rubber ducks will be dropped into the Osage River from a helicopter and boats. Each duck is numbered, corresponding to tickets being sold. The ticketholder with the number matching the first duck to cross the finish line will receive $5,000 with many other prizes awarded.
Tickets are $5 each or $20 for six. Winners will be announced after the duck race and will be notified by phone.
A golf tournament will be held Friday, Aug. 5 at Bear Creek Valley Golf Club. Shotgun start at 1:30 p.m. This tournament has a “quacky twist” with crazy holes and fun obstacles. Cost to play is $125/player. Lunch and registration begins at noon.
The event benefits the Kiwanis Club of Ozark Coast which supports local organizations including Kids’ Harbor, Citizens Against Domestic Violence, the Food Pantry, Lake Area Big Brothers Big Sisters, Wonderland Camp and many others. For more information, go to www.greatduckdrop.com.
