Your guide to catching fish at LOZ!
The lake level was 659.7, generation of 1,200 cubic feet per second (CFS) at the beginning of the week increased to 3,500 CFS at the end of the week for a level of 659.9 by the weekend. Surface temperature at Bagnell Dam was 85 degrees. Truman Lake was at the 704.1 level.
To Note: The Lower Lake is from the dam to the 22-mile mark; Mid-Lake is from the 22- to 38-mile mark, the Upper Osage is from the 38-mile mark to the Route 65 Bridge.
Bagnell Dam spillway/Osage River
Water clarity: Stained. Black bass: Excellent on drop shot rigs with finesse worms, Carolina-rigged Baby Brush Hogs and Texas-rigged 10-inch plastic worms along rocky banks. Crappie: Good on jigs and minnows along rocky banks. Catfish: Good tight-lining cut shad.
Lower Lake
Water clarity: Clear. Black bass: Fair on topwater lures where bass are surfacing or on 10-inch plastic worms 20 feet deep along main lake points. Crappie: Slow on jigs and minnows under docks with lights at night.
Gravois
Water clarity: Clear. Black bass: Good on Texas-rigged 10-inch plastic worms or jigs 15 to 20 feet deep in brush piles. Crappie: Good on minnows or jigs 15 to 20 feet deep around docks or trolling crankbaits along bluffs. Catfish: Good drifting cut shad through shad schools.

Mid-Lake
Water clarity: Stained. Black bass: Fair on Texas-rigged magnum plastic worms or jigs 10 to 12 feet deep in brush piles on the main channel or on jigs and squarebill crankbaits around shallow docks in the backs of creeks. Crappie: Fair on jigs and minnows 20 feet deep around main lake docks or shad schools or trolling crankbaits on the main channel or creeks. Catfish: Fair drifting cut shad or bluegill 15 to 20 feet deep on the main channel.
Grand Glaize
Water clarity: Stained. Black bass: Fair on plastic worms and jigs 10 to 12 feet deep around brush. Crappie: Fair on jigs and minnows 10 to 12 feet deep at night under dock lights.
Niangua
Water clarity: Stained. Black bass: Slow on jigs and shaky head plastic worms around brush piles. Crappie: Fair shooting jigs under main lake docks. White bass: Fair on small spinners for fish busting shad on the surface. Catfish: Slow on jug lines baited with cut shad or on rod and reel with prepared baits.
Upper Osage
Water clarity: Clear. Black bass: Slow on jigs and plastic worms in brush piles around docks or on buzz baits early in the morning. Crappie: Fair on minnows 8 to 12 feet deep in brush. Catfish: Excellent on cut shad and worms.
Truman Dam spillway
Water clarity: Clear. Fishing is slow for all species.
