28 • The Sunrise Beach Little Theater will host “A Rock N English Tea Party” with entertainment by Clay Dixon, performing Elvis songs. 30 • The Sunries Beach Little Theater will host auditions for their dessert theatre production of “A Night of Skits.” from 5-8 p.m. at the Sunrise Beach Community Center (15133 North Highway 5) in Sunrise Beach. Auditions are open to anyone with or without experience. Many other volunteers are needed. The production will be held on Thursday and Friday evenings October 20 & 21 and Sunday afternoon October 23. 31 • Awana program is being offered for children’s ministry at First Baptist Church in Camdenton. Registration from 5:30-7 p.m. Clubs start Sept. 7, from 6-7:30 p.m. (church fellowship and meal prior to club start time at 5:30 p.m.). 31 • The Osage Beach Senior Center is hosting a pizza party from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. A suggested contribution of $5 is asked from guests ages 60+ and $7 for ages under 60 years. Menu items include: meat pizza, boneless breaded chicken wings, salad, garlic toast, fruit, brownies and milk.

2 & 3 • St. Anthony Catholic Church in Camdenton will host a garage sale from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. There will be craft supplies, collectibles, holiday decorations, housewares, toys, books, tools, furniture and many more items available for purchase.

3 • Flankin’ Fest will be held at Bear Bottom Resort from 2-10 p.m. Three different bands will play on barges set up on the water. A fireworks display will be held at 9:45 p.m. The resort is located at the 38 mile marker.

3 • The city of Linn Creek and the Camden County Museum will host a Street Dance from 7-10 p.m. with a live DJ. Bring lawn chairs/seating.

6, 13, 20 & 27 • Drop in knitting/crochet event from 10-3 at Paint Box Cafe in Palisades Village on Hwy KK in Osage Beach. All skill levels are welcome. For more information call 573-374-6927.

7 • The American Legion Post 624 in Sunrise Beach serves their famous chicken wing dinner from 5-6:30 p.m. Cost is $10 for a three-piece dinner served with mashed potatoes, gravy, vegetables. Non-smoking bar and seating available. Call 573-374-6091 for information.

9 • Hot Summer Nights on the Bagnell Dam Strip will be held from 5-10 p.m. rain or shine. The event is free for participants and spectators. 10 • The first annual Wine Dinner benefitting Citizens Against Domestic Violence will be held at Jolly Rogers. The event starts at 4 p.m. A six course culinary experience will be prepared by Chef Joey Vaughan with paired wines. Tickets are $250/person with a limit of 60 participants. 10 • Lake of the Ozarks Air Show is back at Camdenton Memorial—Lake Regional Airport, 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Vendors, air show acts, a Salute to Veterans Breakfast from 7:30-11 a.m. and other entertainment will be held. 10 • The International Union of Operating Engineers Local 148 is hosting its 35th annual Charity Bass Tournament to benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities of St. Louis at PB2 on Lake of the Ozarks. The tournament is designed to allow your everyday fisherman the opportunity to have a fun day of fishing along with helping a great cause. The grand prize is $2500, all you have to do is register as a fisherman. You don’t even have to catch a fish to qualify to win. There will also be cash prizes based upon 10% of the number of boats fishing. The $150 entry fee includes a variety of attendance prizes, brats and complimentary beverages Friday evening, and a pork steak dinner with complimentary beverages Saturday afternoon. 10 • The Laurie Hillbilly Car Show will be held at the fairgrounds from 9 a.m.-11 p.m. Entertainment will be provided and hot rods will be on display. Awards ceremony at 7 p.m. For more information or to register a vehicle, call 573-374-8776.

10 • The annual Providence Fellowship Center Chicken BBQ will begin at 5:30 p.m. and will go to 7:30 p.m. The meal consists of grilled chicken with baked beans, potato salad, coleslaw, fresh-baked bread, cake, and our special recipe homemade ice cream. All proceeds go to the ministries at Providence Fellowship Center and Bethel Fellowship Church. This annual event has been held since the 1950s.
