Meet the Team JOSE PASTRANA,

Director of Food & Beverage

With over 20 years in the hospitality industry, Jose has developed a cultured background of extensive food and beverage experience and accolades. Originally from Puerto Rico, Jose began his career at Orlando’s Grand Cypress Resort and in an effort to continually grow his career, has since gained valuable experience at several notable luxury brands including: Atlantic Hotel & Spa, V Group Management, The Ritz-Carlton and the Clevelander Hotel in Miami, Fla., where he oversaw a $30 Million operation with 18 food and beverage managers and 350 team members. In 2012, he received the Greater Miami & Beaches Hotel Association Award for Food & Beverage Manager of the Year. An integral member of the Lake Nona team, Jose oversees the food and beverage operations, catering operations and room service at the Lodge, where he exemplifies a sincere passion and drive to continually deliver better than best service and create an unforgettable and personalized dining experience for Members and their guests.

CHERIE JONES, Director

of Banquets & Events

As a seasoned event planner, Cherie Jones has more than 29 years of private club experience. Her portfolio includes planning corporate and social events for exclusive clientele including celebrities, professional sports figures and business professionals. Cherie specializes in creating unforgettable themed events, along with intimate gatherings for Members and their guests at Lake Nona. She began her hospitality career in 1985 with Club Corporation of America after completing and facilitating all extensive private club hospitality training programs. In 1991, she founded what is now the Vintner’s Club at the Citrus Club. Cherie’s love and passion for events combined with her attention to detail, will leave you satisfied knowing that you are in the right hands.

MARC KUSCHE, Executive

Chef

After following his family’s footsteps into the hospitality industry, Chef Kusche spent the first decade of his career experiencing different types of kitchens, cultures and cuisines. He began cooking in his native Germany and then relocated to positions in London, Florida, the Caribbean, California and the English countryside. His extensive resume includes the Alfond Inn Winter Park, the Four Seasons Hotel St. Louis; Four Seasons Hotel Hampshire; Four Seasons Resort Great Exuma at Emerald Bay; Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago Club; the Adlon Hotel, Berlin and Silversea Cruises. He was recently invited to cook at the legendary James Beard House in New York City and has been praised as a trendsetter in the Greater Orlando’s dynamic food scene. He has a strong commitment to locally-sourced ingredients from the lush and fertile farms of Central Florida. Given his extensive experience and achievements, Chef Kusche has been able to enhance Lake Nona’s dining and catering experience for our Members and guests’ enjoyment.
