Annika Sorenstam was inducted into the PGA of America Hall of Fame in November. An icon in the golf world, Sorenstam has 90 wins worldwide, including 10 major championships among 72 titles on the LPGA Tour. Tyrrell Hatton won the Turkish Airlines Open in November, securing his victory on the fourth hole of a six-man playoff. The playoff took place under floodlights for the first time in professional golf at the Montgomerie Maxx Royal. This win guarantees him a spot in this year’s Masters Tournament.

Anne van Dam 2019 Andalucía Costa del Sol Open de España Champion
For the second year in a row, Anne van Dam won the Andalucía Costa del Sol Open de España, making it her fifth title on the Ladies European Tour. Van Dam was the longest hitter on both the Ladies European Tour and LPGA Tour last year.

Now, more than ever, hospitality At Lake Nona Golf & Country Club means caring for the wellbeing of our members, residents and staff. Along with other club communities around the globe, our team pivoted quickly to f ind creative ways to safely provide much needed services to our members. We immediately ramped up communications and put protocols in place that allowed us to adapt offerings and provide dining and f itness options that have kept our member families well fed and active. We could not be more inspired by our staffs’ dedication to service during a time when what we all need most is connection and care. With the Club following CDC guidelines and safely reopening in May, we see a changed but improved approach to life at Lake Nona Golf & Country Club, and we look forward to a future that returns us to being the social heart of this community. Outside our gates, in partnership with Orange County, Lake Nona was awarded a $20 million BUILD grant f rom the U.S. Department of Transportation. The f irst of its kind for Central Florida, the grant will go toward creating a robust Local Alternative Mobility Network (LAMN). It includes f ive major components designed to connect people to places with less dependency on automobiles, including a full-service mobility hub, linear park and bridge, inf rastructure for autonomous vehicles (AV) and a bicycle transportation network. KPMG’s state-of-the-art learning and development center, Lakehouse, opened its doors for business at the beginning of the year. It anticipates hosting 800 professionals for each week in 2020, and we look forward to showing them all Lake Nona has to offer. As an innovation ecosystem for entrepreneurs and start-ups, we are thrilled to welcome several new partnerships to our “living lab” community. Lake Nona announced an agreement with Verizon to deploy 5G technology and smartlighting solutions across our 17 square miles, and Berlin-based leAD Sports will create a cutting-edge accelerator designed to bolster technology start-up companies in Central Florida. We are excited about the incredible innovation happening throughout the Region. We look forward to serving you for many years to come.

The Life Project was modeled after the Framingham Heart Study, which began in the 1940s in Framingham, Mass., and brought together residents to donate their health data.
