Adjusting for Windy Conditions with Ease

Adjusting for Windy Conditions

with Ease

Depending on the time of year and your destination, the golf course may add additional challenges with windy conditions. It could be the spring or fall, or perhaps a dream coastal course. Playing into the wind makes it more of a challenge to control the spin and trajectory of the golf ball. Being able to control those factors successfully allows you hit the golf ball your desired distance with accuracy. Follow these six steps to help you learn how to control your shots into the wind easily.

1.Club up or two! Play a club that has less loft than the club you would normally choose for the distance. You are trying to launch it lower and with less spin.

2.Adjust the ball position. Move the ball two inches back from the normal ball position for that club.

3.Grip down. Make the club shorter by gripping down an inch or two.

4.Drop your lead foot. Adjust your stance by dropping your lead foot back two inches off your target line.

5.Align your nose. Move your nose towards the front edge of the golf ball.

6.Swing it easy. Take a smooth, controlled swing and let the ball fly laser-like through the sky towards your target.

Practice at the range to get comfortable and then enjoy your round.
