Wonderful.” “Excellent.” “Always a pleasant experience.” These are just a few of the comments folks have made about Dr. Brad Haines and Dr. Steven White, the duo docs behind White & Haines Advanced Dentistry in Cornelius. These words (and endless positive reviews!) are what fuels these dentists to deliver top-notch care — to every patient, every time. An interest in putting others first started quite young for both men. They were inspired to pursue dentistry when they were just kids. “My father was a dentist,” Dr. White explains, “and for that reason I was drawn to the dental profession at an early age. I have always liked working with my hands and fixing things.” As for Dr. Haines, a close proximity to the profession led him down his fated path: “I grew up down the street from my dentist,” he says. “He let me come and work in his practice where I saw the lifechanging benefits of dentistry for patients who needed help.” While both doctors have roots in other states and cities, they share a dual love for the Lake Norman area and a passion for their families. Dr. Haines has three kids—Kate, Riley, and Anderson—with his wife, Tiffany. Dr. White’s family includes his wife, Debi, and their five children: Matthew, Connor, Libby, Joseph, and Anna. “My great loves are my family and dentistry,” Dr. Haines smiles, adding: “I don’t have much time for anything else it seems … but I love every minute!”
In Dr. White’s downtime, he can be found skiing in the chilly winter months and hitting the links in the summer — the latter being especially easy in this golffriendly area we call home. “I really enjoy being outside, and I stay active by running, biking, or hiking with the family.”
In addition to being wholly devoted to their families and a successful dental practice, Dr. Haines and Dr. White say their spirituality is key to living a healthy, balanced life. They both feel very guided by their faith.
“If I’m having a challenging day,” Dr. Haines says, “the belief that God is always working for the good of those who love Him keeps me going. I know that there is always a bigger picture and purpose to what I’m going through and that God’s plan for my life is all that matters.” Dr. White agrees: “On a bad day, my faith in God keeps me going. It helps to know that I am never alone, and I truly believe that things will work out because God is in control.”
These impassioned business owners say that you do your best work when you take care of others. “I’m a big believer in hard work and honesty,” says Dr. White. “If you do the right thing and care for your patients, then you will be happy and successful.” w
