If luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity, then Josh Dearing is a very, very lucky man. e Huntersville native was working for a large nance company when a friend called him one day and said the words that changed his life: “I bet you’d be great at real estate.” ose words stayed with him.

“I’ve always loved meeting new people and connecting with them on a personal level, so I decided to give it a shot,” he says. Even though Josh wasn’t sure what to expect when he started a new career, he says his healthy love of competition gives him the motivation he needs to be the best at what he does.

“Just knowing there is someone out there working harder than I am res me up and keeps me hungry,” he smiles. “I didn’t get in this business to be number two. It’s easy to stay motivated because I love people so much. I can’t wait to meet the next family we get to help.”

Hard work and a commitment to families come easy to Josh. He studied at Montreat College and UNC Charlotte, and now lives and thrives in Cornelius with his wife and business partner, Charlene, and three massive fur babies: Lincoln, Oakleigh, and Gracie Blu.

“I’ve lived here my whole life and have no plans on leaving! We are regulars at our favorite locally owned restaurants in the area. We love supporting our community.”

He also loves taking in his favorite sport – baseball. And now that summer is just around the corner, game time is almost here. “I love everything about baseball,” he says. “I grew up playing it, watching it, and traveling to di erent ballparks with my father.” His focus on family drives him to be a better person each and every day. And having a wife who supports him 100 percent doesn’t hurt either. “Charlene and I pick each other up when the other is down,” he says lovingly. “If I’m having an o day, she is right there to lift me up. If she is having a bad day, she knows I have her back. We always know when the other person needs that boost.”

Sure, he may consider himself competitive and driven, but this devoted husband and business owner is all heart and lled with gratitude. “I am so grateful to work with my wife and we have built a very successful business alongside each other. We get so many people asking how we work together every day, but we couldn’t be where we are without each other. She’s my best friend and how many people can say they get to work with their best friend!” w
