You could say Dr. Kevin Tsui’s passions run deep. Not only for dental health, but also his beloved North Carolina sports teams. “I’m a big fan of the Hornets, Panthers, and the Tar Heels,” he says. “ ere are two things that I know for certain: I will always have my patients’ backs and I will always bleed Carolina Blue.”

at’s not too surprising for a man born and raised in Kings Mountain, North Carolina. Although he dreamed of a career in professional tennis (there’s that passion again!), dentistry also grabbed hold of him in middleschool … and it didn’t let go. His twice-yearly dentist visits – plus trips to the orthodontist when he wore braces – opened his eyes to a compelling career path. “I was always good with my hands such as art and playing piano,” Dr. Tsui says, “so it just all came together naturally for me.”

Dr. Tsui attended UNC-Chapel Hill for his undergraduate degree, Tulane University for his master's, and a return to UNC-Chapel Hill for dental school. When the opportunity arose to be a dentist at Waterside Dental Care in Denver, Dr. Tsui felt it was a perfect t and was eagerly welcomed aboard. “To be able to do what I love and to provide excellent dental care to the residents of the Lake Norman area is a true blessing,” he smiles.

“I am surrounded by a wonderful team,” he continues, “that always supports me. I never tell patients or people outside the o ce that my sta ‘works for me’ … instead, I tell everyone that I ‘work with them.’ ey are my teammates for a reason. I would not be where I am without each and every one of them.”

Dr. Tsui thanks his parents for always inspiring him to shoot for the stars, no matter what. Emigrating to the United States with barely anything to their name, their hard work and perseverance couldn’t help but make an impact. “ ey were able to establish themselves in the community,” Dr. Tsui explains, “and they raised me and my brother to be successful individuals in our respective elds. Every success I have is thanks to them.” w
