SOLAR THERMAL HOT WATER SYSTEMS TRAINING COURSE The Solar Thermal Hot Water Systems Training Course is an entry level qualification for experienced domestic heating installers or plumbers who wish to extend their work scope into solar heating. It is recognised under the Low Carbon Building Programme for accredited installer status and covers all major indirect system & panel types.
The candidate should hold a G3 certificate in Domestic Unvented Hot Water Systems. It is also essential that the trainee holds one ODPM recognised competency in a conventional fuel i.e. gas, oil or solid fuel; or for those in the plumbing field an NvQ level 2 or equivalent plumbing qualification.

Experience in basic electrical practice would also be desirable. A basic knowledge of

DOMESTIC HEAT PUMP INSTALLER TRAINING COURSE The Domestic Heat Pump Installer training course is aimed at experienced heating installers who wish to install heat pumps in domestic properties and small commercial properties.
This course covers both ground to water and air to water technologies

Candidates should have good working knowledge of heating/hot water systems and design with an NvQ level 3 qualification or equivalent experience.

CERTIFICATE IN ENERGY EFFICIENCY FOR DOMESTIC HEATING Certificate in Energy Efficiency for Domestic Heating is suitable for engineers, gas fitters and plumbers and associated trades who are involved in designing, installing and maintenance of gas boilers, heating controls, and hot water systems. It is suitable for professional heating installers who work in domestic properties.
It will prepare the candidate for "self certification" required as part of ‘Part L’ Building Regulations which came into operation in April 06.
The certificate will demonstrate candidate competence and is recognised by CORGI, The Energy Savings Trust and The Energy Efficiency Partnership for Homes.

UNVENTED HOT WATER SYSTEMS TRAINING COURSE - INITIAL COMPLETE The Unvented Hot Water course trains candidates in the installation and safety requirements of all Unvented Hot Water Systems up to 500 litres capacity.
Successful candidates will meet the requirements of Building Regulations (G3) and is designed for any candidate wishing to install or maintain unvented hot water systems.

The initial (full) Unvented Hot Water training course is for operatives who do not currently hold an Unvented Hot Water Certificate.

WATER REGULATIONS COURSE - WRAS TRAINING CERTIFICATE The Water Regulations Advisory Scheme (WRAS) Certificate Course covers the Water Regulations 1999. The course does not require prior experience and requirements will be covered during the course.
Upon completion, the successful candidates will receive a WRAS certificate and card which will allow them to apply for approved plumbing contractor status with

SOLAR PHOTOVOLTAIC TRAINING COURSE FOR DOMESTIC INSTALLATIONS The purpose of the Domestic Solar Photovoltaics Installer Training Course and assessment is to give an entry level qualification for experienced domestic/ commercial electricians wishing to extend their work scope into Solar Photovoltaic’s.

APPRENTICESHIPS
You may not be aware that there is funding available for under 19’s. The apprenticeship programme is a great way to get young employed people interested in training and aims to up skill, educate and certificate 16-18 year old employees in the workplace. The Apprentice will undertake a combination of work based learning and training, made up of approximately 30 hours per week in employment and one day a week at college studying an NvQ qualification. Successful apprenticeships improve confidence in the job role and are an ideal starting point for encouraging career development in the workplace.
