Materials list for Cold Wax Workshop :

I buy many of my supplies from Dick Block or Cheap Joe’s or Jerrys Artarama online. you have time to collect what you need or see if you already own the supplies. smock or apron latex or non latex gloves sketchbook and pencil always a good idea bring your own oil paints (NOT water miscible please!) if you own them: if not then purchase a small starter set of oil paints from Dick Blick or the other suppliers or have at least these three colors plus white: Cad red medium, Hansa Yellow, Ultramarine blue 1 16 oz can of Gamblin or Dorland brand cold wax Palette knives various sizes ok Silicon bowl scrapers ( Catalyst brand is what I use) old credit cards (hotel keycards are good too) old combs your own choice of paint brushes (you only need if you want to make calligraphic marks) easy removable painter’s tape 1 speedball brayer 2-4in size 2 12x12x 11/2 or 2 inch cradled wood panels time) paper towels optional:

BTW failed paintings on hardboard work nicely for this starter class! or failed watercolor paintings on 300 lb paper work well also! Never throw anything out, you never know when they will come in handy!!! some other household items you can bring for texture making: spatulas waxed paper, netting, stencils, coffee stirrers or bamboo skewers , old whisk brooms, I will provide other incidentals for the class.
