Dr. Craig Thiede has had the privilege of serving the Orange County area for almost thirty years. Dr. Thiede’s experience and expertise has given him a reputation as a premiere oral and maxillofacial surgeon in Southern California. SoCal Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is a full office and hospitalbased practice. Surgery in the office encompasses removal of failing teeth, wisdom teeth, pathology as well as implants. Dr. Thiede places over 600 implants a year. In the hospital, Dr. Thiede treats facial trauma, performs orthognathic surgery, cleft palate and facial reconstruction.

Born in Barstow, Dr. Thiede’s early years were spent in Yermo, California. His pre-teen and teenage years were spent in Hacienda Heights, California. It was during these years that Dr. Thiede decided that he would like to have a career in dentistry. He did his undergraduate work at The University

of Southern California and then moved to New York to attend New York University, College of Dentistry. While in dental school Dr. Thiede decided to further his education and become an oral and maxillofacial surgeon. After graduation, Dr. Thiede continued with his oral and maxillofacial surgery training at Woodhull Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York.

In 1993, Dr. Thiede returned home to Orange County and started his practice in the city of Tustin. Dr. Thiede believes first and foremost in doing the right treatment for the right reasons, period. He believes his patients would want to be treated as if they were family members. Dr. Thiede believes that it is his compassion and drive to provide the best possible treatment for his patients in a comfortable and safe environment that has given him his excellent reputation and allowed SoCal to expand. Because SoCal has
