Dr. Steve Mora is a Board Certified Sports Medicine Fellowship trained Orthopaedic Surgeon. He is cofounder of the state-of-the-art, multi-specialty medical group, Restore Orthopedics and Spine Center in Orange. With areas of expertise that include the latest innovations in surgical and non-surgical techniques, Dr. Mora’s personal background uniquely qualifies him for his chosen career.

“When I was four years-old I was run over by a bus while living in Peru. My legs were mangled. I suffered from terrible complications leading to deformities, infections and leg shortening,” he recalls. “I endured multiple surgical procedures including leg lengthening performed at Shriners Hospital for Children. My personal experience as a trauma patient introduced me early-on to the field of Orthopaedic Surgery and to the concept of paying it forward which I do through my medical mission work.”

Today, Dr. Mora draws from over two decades of experience taking care of athletes at all levels, ranging from the weekend warrior, the active 70-plus year old, the champion UFC fighter, to the Olympic Gold medalist. Dr. Mora also performs innovative bone marrow stem cell injections, platelet rich plasma (PRP) injections, fat based regenerative injections, and other emerging non-surgical procedures with the goal of providing long term pain relief for arthritic patients; all treatments that he has personally undergone himself. “I offer my patients regenerative procedures which are based on science, evidence, and personal experience.”

With a unique eye for detail, Dr. Mora is a talented sketch artist and uses that same level of artistic attention to detail when he operates. He believes in not just improving function after surgery but also maintaining aesthetics and symmetry.

“At a young age I saw myself as the healer. I saw myself as a physician who can return function to someone severely injured as I once was – ultimately, a terribly tragic situation led me to find my life goal and passion.”
