and tumor(s). During sessions, X-rays monitor the tumor(s) location to track movement that may occur due to bodily function.
Because of its accuracy in targeting the tumor, in essence “painting it,” CyberKnife minimizes radiation exposure to sensitive healthy tissue and organs surrounding tumors.
Three months after CyberKnife treatments, patients’ prostate-specific antigen (PSA) levels are tested to serve as a progress report on tumor response.
