With a strong choice of electric vehicles (EVs) on the market, choosing the right car for your organisation is vital. Range, charging practicality and price each deserve careful attention. Consequently, choosing the right option for your company can be a bewildering task, which is why Bolton Kia has a dedicated Business User and Fleet Team, who are happy to conduct site visits and demonstrate Kia’s electric vehicles directly at a business’ premises. This way, businesses are better able to see how Kia electric cars will meet their requirements.

Kia’s award-winning EVs, as well as hybrid, plug-in hybrid, petrol and diesel models, are designed to suit every job need. With three EV models to choose from, including the EV6, e-Niro and Soul EV, Kia is already an established pioneer and leader in the sector.

The Kia e-Niro – available with a choice of two battery sizes and four trim grades – has been a consistent best seller, ranking in the top three every month in 2021, year-to-date, proving its value, reliability and appreciation by businesses.

No stranger to award wins since its launch in 2016, the e-Niro picked up the title of ‘Best electric small SUV’ for the second year running at the 2021 What Car? Electric Car Awards. The e-Niro remains the only fully electric car to ever win the coveted What Car? Car of the Year award, which it achieved in 2019.

There’s a choice of 282-mile range ‘4+’, ‘3’, and ‘2 Long Range’ or 180mile range ‘2’ grade. Both e-Niro batteries use lithium-ion technology and are liquid cooled, which helps to ensure a consistent range throughout the seasons.

The longer range e-Niro models are powered by a 64kWh battery, which can be recharged from 0-80 per cent in just 54 minutes. Driving the front wheels, a 201bhp electric motor can accelerate the car from 0-62mph

in 7.5 seconds, onto a top speed of 104mph. The shorter range e-Niro ‘2’ is powered by a 39kWh battery and a 134bhp motor.

Features such as Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are standard throughout the range, as is a reversing camera and large touchscreen displays.

Offering incredible practicality, range, hot hatch-rivalling performance, and a convenient and driver-friendly cabin, the e-Niro ‘4+’ sits at the top of the family and brings premium options to the family-sized hatchback. These include LED lighting all round, a large 10.25-inch touchscreen with satellite navigation and European mapping, an on-board 11kW charger, front and rear parking sensors and heated and cooled front seats, and heated outer rear seats. Kia (UVO) Connect allows drivers to monitor the car’s range remotely, as well as set charging schedules and pre-heat the interior or check the doors are locked, all at the touch of a button.

Safety comes as standard with the e-Niro benefiting from the latest technology. Grade dependent highlights include useful driver aids such as Smart Cruise Control (SCC) with Stop & Go and Blind Spot Detection (BSD) with Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA).

With all this and more available from just one model, business and fleet customers may wish to get

advice from experts before deciding which model to choose. Happily, they need look no further than Bolton Kia for all their electric car needs.

Electric car benefits are wide and varied for both business and driver. Drivers will benefit from the one per cent Benefit-in-Kind tax (BIK) for the current financial year, rising to just two per cent in the next financial year.

With the introduction of Ultra-Low Emission Zones, Clean Air Zones and Zero Emission Zones around the country, Kia’s electric range offers businesses the perfect opportunity to not only reduce costs of entry into paid zones, but also ensure its drivers are able to visit clients where needed and without incurring penalties for doing so.

In addition, businesses will appreciate £0 Vehicle Excise Duty (VED) and reduced service, maintenance and repair (SMR) costs, which can be significant due to an EV’s simplified powertrain with few moving parts and the use of regenerative braking. This technology is able to recuperate energy when slowing down instead of wearing down brake pads.

Alex Grindrod, Fleet and Business Manager at Bolton Kia commented:

“Companies and drivers can benefit from going electric with Kia, thanks to the reassurance of our established reliability, reduced running costs and state-of-the-art technology, all at a compelling price.”

Businesses are expected to account for 80% of all electric vehicles purchased in the UK over the next five years, according to the British Vehicle

Rental and Leasing Association’s (BVRLA) 2020 Road to Zero Report Card, with 75% of all BEVs on the road bought by businesses.

Kia’s EVs can also save businesses fuel costs, with a full recharge costing less than £10 (based on the average electricity tariff costing 14 pence per kWh ).

Supporting electric vehicle charging, Kia launched Kia Charge earlier this year, providing access to 19,000 charge point connectors in the UK and a further 290,000 in Europe, including access to popular networks such as bp pulse, Pod Point and IONITY – all from just one simple to use account.

Kevin Howard, Dealer Principal at

Kia Bolton added: “Businesses need support before going electric to make the choice that’s right for them. Bolton Kia’s Business, Fleet and Genius teams are all on hand at the dealership to help ensure a smooth a satisfying switch.”
